    Elliott Smith has looooooads:
A Distorted Reality Is Now A Necessity To Be Free
    (drug addiction)
Needle in the Hay (Drug addiction)
Big Decision (Trying to overcome a drug addiction)
A Passing Feeling (When the drugs don't work anymore)
St. Ide's Heaven (Wandering around the streets at night stoned)
New Monkey (Bosses telling him to stop taking drugs)
High Times (Arguing with a friend about his drug addiction)

Probably plenty more too, half his songs seem to be about drug addiction or have at least some major drug reference

I can't say I listen to "drug songs".... but K's choice -- Not an Addict comes to mind.

I actually saw K's choice at an HFStival one year.. they sang this song, and next to Pearl Jam, it was one of the best live music experiences of my life. You could tell that the singer/band was floored to see a sea of people singing their song back to them :)

Was Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds about one of John's sons who drew a picture of his friend Lucy and and she was in the sky and there were diamonds around her? That's what I heard anyway.

When questioned about "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds," he noted that Julian's painting had inspired the song, but that it was "pretty obvious" that the song was about an acid trip.[3]
..and you will come to find that we are all one mind, capable of all that's imagined and all conceivable

lucy was about one of julian's drawings of a schoolfriend. :)

there is also those thoughts that lucy pays homage to lewis carroll. and afterall he was an opium smoker so... :)
but then john said drugs only open what is already in the mind.

(obvious) Afroman - Because I Got High

Surely some Mother Love Bone or Temple of the Dog songs had to be about drugs or addiction?

After seeing the video for Soundgarden's Black Hole Sun, I'm convinced that song is about a bad acid trip....

    Temple of the Dog songs

    Times of Trouble:

    When the spoon is hot
    And the needles sharp
    And you drift away
    I can hear you say
    That the world in black
    Is upon your back
    And your body shakes
    So you ditch away
    And you close the shades

  • Drug Buddy - Lemonheads

    Shes coming over,
    Well go out walking,
Make a call on the way.

Shes in the phone booth now,
    Im looking in.
There comes a smile on her face.

Theres still some of the same stuff we got yesterday.
Theres still some of the same stuff we got yesterday,
    Yeah.

    Im too much with myself,
    I wanna be someone else.
    Im too much with myself,
    I wanna be someone else.
    Im too much with myself,
    I wanna be someone else.

So we take off out fionas door,
    Walk until its light outside,
Like before when we were on the phone.

We have to laugh to look at each other.
We have to laugh cause were not alone.

As the cars fly up king st.
    Its enough to startle us,
    Its enough to startle us

    I love my drug buddy.
    My drug, my drug buddy.
    I love my drug buddy.
    My drug, my drug buddy.
If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.

Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth.

I thought Shine on was about Syd Barrett. Although I suppose it's also about his decent because of drugs.

Anyway, Golden Brown by the Stranglers is apparently about Heroin. Although the lyrics are so fucked up no-one has ever really deciphered the exact meaning.
