My ONLY criticism would be...
Then need to go deeper into their vast catalog for their live shows. Yeah, we all love the hits... and you know 'Evelong' is a staple, like 'Yellow Ledbetter' is to us... but, there are so many songs in their catalog they can bring out.
Other than that... great live shows. And I love 'Stacked Actors'.... not just the song... but, that's when Dave goes into the audience with his guitar and the whole place goes crazy.
Agree. Exhausted, Floaty and X-Static would be so sweet to hear live, if I ever chose to see them again1998 ~ Barrie

They ARE an amazing band live! I also think the Foos are one of those bands better live than on record.0 -
Anyone catch them on the Foocoustic tour? I saw them on my birthday in LA (the show they taped for Skin and Bones. It was one of the best shows I've ever been to. They are so tight musically. GREAT band. love em.0

I caught the first two of three shows at the Pantages... the one where he talks about Kurt's turtles and the one where he talks about Kurt's girlfriend. I missed the thrid show because the Chili Peppers were playing that night.
The original concept was supposed to be like their last album... to tour both the rock show and the acoustic show at the same time... that is, play a big, loud, fast Arena Rock show one night and a sit down, talk to the audience Theater Show the next night. I guess the logistics got in the way... I don't know if they still want to do that.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!

I'm not a fan at all, but I respect them. I know a lot of people that are really , really into them. They do nothing for me, but to each their own.I'll keep taking punches
Untill their will grows tired0 -

I would have loved it if they had formatted it that way, I would for sure have gone to multiple nights if they had. Was it me or did a good majority of the Pantages crowd suck? I don't know what it is but LA crowds annoy the shit out of me (no offense any LA people but it's true). About 80 percent of the people there are getting up and down getting drinks ALL NIGHT, yapping to each other and jaw jacking on their cell phones. It's like it's a place to be seen rather then actually listen to and enjoy the music. I had the same experience the other day seeing Chris Cornell at the Wiltern.0 -

Night One was definately bad. It was filled with 'Friends and Family' and V.I.P. Guest Listers. They got the front section... us fans were further back. Dave even makes a reference to this in the DVD.
The Second Night was much better. The references to the 818 (Valley) was made on the Second Night... and something that was cut from the DVD... two obnoxious guys that Dave made fun of that we're screaming for attention in the 3rd or 4th row.
"Hey Dude... I see you're wearing a 'Tool' Shirt. Very descriptive."
and when he found out they were from Virginia (where Dave was originally from) he said he's never gonna admit to being from Virginia again.
It was really funny shit.
And 'See You' on the DVD was from Night Three... the show i missed. The other nights, Drew Hester did a Triangle solo and a Casstinette solo... and Taylor got an intro and a sweet little drum solo... and Pat Smear and Petra Haden also got intros.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! I was at night two then because I remember him going on a wrap about Virginia and never going back. Dave was pretty much a stand up all night. He's a funny dude. I also remember the solo I think with castanets. I dont' recall taylor soloing though. That must have been the night before. I just can't stand crowds that aren't fans of the music. I had pretty good seats but it seemed like a lot of people where just wasting time drinking and yapping until they played Everlong. Why go do a show like that when you are only interested in 1 song? That has been my continued experience at LA shows.0 -

I feel sorry that you cannot get the joy that I get from the Foos...I am so happy to have found another amazing band to listen to....
Perhaps you should try watching one of their dvds...that really made me love them even more - as with most music, the live stuff is the best!0 -

That first night was also the one where Dave was talking to his daughter's doctor and reminding him that the great seats and free drinks are in exchange for 3:00 A.M. phone calls to him when they can't get the baby to quit crying.
That first night was also where a lot of the 'Hollywoodies' went. There were actors and actresses there that I had no idea who they were... but the gal next to me knew who they were... Desperate Housewives or something. There were also other musicians... Stewart Copeland, Lemmy, Billy Duff, Chris Chaney, Billy Morrison, Kim Deal and Josh Homme (and a very pregnant Brodie). I did recognize Lance Armstrong with some amazing little model or something.
And I know what you mean about people getting up. At the beginning of 'Marigold', a lot of people got up to get to the bar in the lobby... I guess they had no idea this was a Nirvana song that the Foos rarely do. Their loss.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!
