WOW - they put on a fantastic show. A small stage came down from the ceiling for an acoustic set in the middle of the show. Great energy and a very enthusiastic crowd. Grohl is very entertaining - he had me laughing all night. Well worth the $25 ticket.

$25?! I paid the equivalent of about $80 dollars to see them in London last year! But yeah, they always put on a great show, and the acoustic stage is really cool touch.
  • My wife and I are going to see the foos in Philly on Thurs day I'm pumped. Later Yostarama
  • As I said to my brother after the show: "pearl jam better step it up on the next tour, they're losing rank!" :) Honestly that show was INCREDIBLE. I think I had chills the whole time. Dave Grohl may very well be one of the best frontmen of all time. He basically connected to every single person in that arena. Just incredible. LOUD, ruckus, melodic, funny...just pure rock n roll.

oh and that second stage idea was genius. I had the perfect seats in the first loge right in front of it. Everlong was just...wow...when you could hear the crowd just kind of quietly singing "gutta promise not to stop when I say when"...wow...

Seen the Foo about 5 times and they never cease to amaze me. They are awesome in concert.

The last time I saw them I was in the outer reaches of Dodger Stadium as they opened for The Police.

They brought the entire place down and despite my seat location made it feel like a 2000 seat theater.
  • I'm seeing them for the 2nd time on Sunday in Detroit. The other time was when weezer opened for them.

dave grohl talking about the grammys/berklee/triangle players and talking about how when mentos hit you they don't feel like peeps was so freaking funny...

we arrived during Against Me, I think, they were second (they seemed to be the bigger of the two). we didn't even go into the arena during their set. from out on the concourse they sounded terrible. how do bands that bad get signed and get to open for huge bands like the foo? I'll never understand it...

Against Me sucked IMO. Serj was pretty good - no SOAD music though.

oohhh so Serj played second then...I recognized the singer's voice...ugh, they were the ones I thought were awful then!
  • oh ok, did anyone else experience this at the DCU center last night: it's pouring rain, and you have to wait in line to get frisked to get into the arena...but there are 2 separate lines for men and women. The men's line has like 20 employees frisking everyone at once, while in the women's line, there was one lady and we were stuck just getting soaked in the rain. My brother got inside a good 15-20 minutes before I did!
  • i'm watching one of these against me videos on you tube and whoops i thought this song was done by the offspring because they sound similar to the offspring.

you know I have to give dave grohl credit for still having his long hair, you don't see it much, but it makes for so much more of a rocking performance when the frontman can effectively headbang.

was also there last night, what a great show.

Everlong was amazing in that whenever the song didnt have lyrics the place was dead quiet was pretty crazy.

Yeah, these sucky bands like Against Me always seem to open up for good bands like Foo Fighters. And that SOAD singer is unlistenable to me. It looks like I'll be boozing in the campus parking lot prior to FF's set on Friday night.

I wish Pete Yorn were opening in Binghamton. I heard some of his songs on my pandora.com station and thought they were pretty good.
