Actually, it's a very, very stupid thing to have done. He's already on the offenders register over here due to his "research" a couple years ago. I love The Who and think Townshend is brilliant musically, but he's obviously a nutter.
Anyone who has listened to "Tommy" knows Pete has issues. Most brilliant artists do.

He is weird by today's strange standards, but like has been said a few times already there have been numerous numerous stories about exploring sexuality at a young age written by older authors. I guess I'm different, but I see it as just as artistic as his stories about abuse in Tommy and others songs of his. It's art.

pete townsend did access a child pornography site, something he freely admits to, and subsequently reported that site to try and get it closed down. the facts are contrary to you stating he had a load of kiddie porn on his computer - he did not download one single image of child pornography onto his computer and none were found during the police investigation. he was never charged with possessing images of child porn, as he didn't posess any. however due to his accessing of the site it was ordered that his name be placed on the sex offenders register.
Had a arguement about this in the pub the other. I have great respect for Pete Townshend and I think that Pete himself was actually victim of abuse as a young child, uncle Ernie could be case in point.
