i'm not seeing an issue here. 16 is the age of consent in england (as it happens to be in new england), and that's reasonable to me. i'm sure 16 year olds in england are very much more mature than the person who started this thread.

thats not a fact at all... he signed into a porn site using his credit card... yes its a stupid thing to do... to see how bad it actually was... he then phoned a lawyer to discuss what he could and should do to stop the website operating!

he didnt have images stored on his computer and thusly the police NEVER charged him... his name came up as he had signed into the site, this was why he was investigated but NEVER charged... as the evidence showed his only crime was stupidity

Why was he investigating the site? I dont know enough about it to make any judgements but anyone who uses their credit card to sign in to a child porn site 'to see how bad it actually was' is an idiot. Why is it his job to go to these sites and report them? If he was a normal thinking human being he would steer clear.

I couldnt agree more... but being an idiot isnt a criminal offence. Its like that scene in A Few Good Men with someone being charged with trying to buy drugs.. and the drugs turned out to be Oregano and he was arrested... not technically done anything wrong except he was an idiot

He obviously has issues or problems and maybe is getting some help...

but most importantly he was NEVER charged... and computers hold information long after files are deleted and they never found images that had been downloaded.

Maybe there is something underhand about him... no smoke without fire, etc... but until he's charged and found guilty and with the facts we know then he must be deemed innocent

he was writing a book about his abuse experiences supposedly... he reported the website on numerous occasions and he also had dismissed child porn on his website previous to his arrest... he had an ISBN for the biography and was doing research.

only he can really answer for his motive but he was quite brazen with it.. using his own credit card,etc.. he then told various people he had done that and what he had seen repulsed him... he even called a lawyer to ask what could be done about the site!

is there any way to discover or erase that sort of thing? my brother's taking my computer to college next year and while i dont have kiddie porn, i did download some raunchy content in my single days that id feel guilty handing over to him

The story that came out four or so years ago did not surprise me one bit - that Pete was doing research on this very subject. And for those of you who think they know everything, Pete Townshend contacted the authorities PRIOR to accessing that site, letting them know what he was doing.

and since they confiscated all of his computers and found nothing, let the fucking story go

and if the legal age in England is 16 - then there is NOTHING wrong with the latest story he wrote

It's funny how most of the people criticizing Pete are from England, where the press crucified him, and covered up all the facts to make him look guilty. Some people will believe anything that the press reports. Americans dismissed the story as rubbish, and rightfully so. When Pete was declared innocent, the press ignored it, so many ignorant cunts like the ones on this board still consider him to be a pedophile. It's pretty pathetic.

he's also had a very tormented past and that's in all the music as well. I'll just put this up with the people will believe what they want and cheers to them.
