  • The bands posted by Yosi and Nathanastin are some of the best bands ever.

It'll be a dream of mine to have Eddie Vedder working with people like Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament, Mike McCready and the awesome drummer Matt Cameron.

Here's another supergroup featuring Matt Cameron on drums that i would like to see - perhaps it will never happen, but we can hope:-

    MC - Drums
    kim Thayill - Guitar
    Ben Sheppard - Bass
    Chris Cornell - Vocals

Supergroup or not, this was of a great combination of musicianship and chemistry.

I'd like to see band with:-

    Alison F Levy - Vocals
    Victor Krummenacher - vocals/guitar
    Jonathan Segel - keyboard/violin/guitar
    Greg Lisher - Guitar
    John Hanes - Drums
    Paul Ogden - Bass

I know this isn't a supergroup but they were brilliant live. One of the best bands I have ever seen. There's going to be an album out soon.

  • My supergroup would have 2 members on each instrument that would randomly take turns. They would also ALL share songwriting duties.

    Rhythm Guitar 2: Brett Gurewitz
    Lead Guitar 1: Mike McCready

Well, this'll probably never work, but...

    vocals: michael stipe
    harmony vocals: emmylou harris
    drums: jack irons
    guitar: carrie brownstein
    bass: stefan lessard
    pedal steel: daniel lanois
    violin/background vocals: petra haden

I don't know. Some of it's kind of freaky, but I think I could hear it in my head. Daniel Lanois and Emmylou Harris are both really, 'ethereal' I guess is the best word for it. Carrie's one of my favorite guitarists ever; she has a style all her own and it's very abrasive, which I think would butt up nicely against the other people in the band. Jack Irons is very loose, which I think this band would definetely be and he's inventive without overplaying, and since there are alot of heavy players in this band the drums have got to do that. And stefan lessard's a great bassist, highly underrated in an oft-maligned band. And Michael I think will work incredibly wherever he does his thing. Petra will do her thing as always. I could see some freaky, beautiful music coming from this group.

Edit: Although, I thought Seven Worlds Collide came close to being one of the best 'supergroups' I've ever heard. I wonder what made that one succeed while so many others have failed.
  • Vocals - Ed Vedder
    Guitar - Jack White
    Guitar - Jerry Cantrell
    Bass - Les Claypool
    Drums - Keith Moon
  • Vocals- Liam Gallagher (Oasis, c.94)
    Lead Guitar- Slash (GnR)
Rhythm Guitar- Rich Robinson (Black Crowes)
    Bass- Jared Followill (KoL)
    Drums- Dave Grohl

I tried to pick people that I think would play well together. Tell me this wouldn't be the ballsiest group of arrogant pricks to ever rock your face off!
she was underwhelmed, if that's a word
