Have heard them and still think they're shite...

All hype and bandwagon jumping by people who haven't heard enough decent music to differentiate... you'll grow out of it and he'll end up killing himself... end of... next subject

Babyshambles are about to record their follow up album and I must say (I may be biased cuz I loved DIA) the tracklist that they've said it would be looks very good.

And Dirty Pretty Things' debut album is top notch in my book, some catchy songs with some above average lyrics.

neither are as good as UTB though

The follow up album was never actually confirmed, they have a 5 track ep due out very soon which i have heard and its pretty good. Couple of great tracks, worth picking up for the song Sedative alone in my opinion.
People say im paranoid. Well, they dont say it, but i know that's what they are thinking.

Saw Babyshambles a few months ago (was surprised Pete turned up) and while the set list was pretty Spontaneous it was still a good gig.. Fuck forever is a class track too!!

'What a Waster' and 'Can't stand me now' are 2 good songs from the Libertines.

And they also describe my feelings about that Pete guy...

  • He played gigs for his fans in his living room for drug money...honestly, I just don't get the drug hype/reality of this guy...when I hear the Libertines, all I hear is beautiful, clean, wonderful pop music, as pure as it should be...they should be proud as hell for that musical contribution...not fucking it all away...but that said, they are one of my absolute favorites...ORIGINAL POSTER: give them a shot...

their earlier stuff was pretty solid, IMO. They are pretty big in the UK, not so much in the US.

Feel SO LUCKY to have seen the Libertines 3 times in the US. Their set at Coachella in 2003 is one of my fave festival memories ever: first off, whatever the rumor was about their rambunctious sets that rumor got around, because there were frickin' RIOT POLICE at their little tent for their set! Then they were so good (because they were great live) that they did whip us into a frenzy and somehow, not sure where the champagne came from but it was like a tidal wave of champagne, we came out soaking wet like we'd been swimming in champagne when it was over.

The LIbertines at Coachella and Uncle Tupelo at SXSW in '91. 2 of the best festival/conference shows ever performed. SO EXCITED that they've got something new out, and really hoping they tour the US. So far Mexico is only N. America dates...
