I tried searching for this and reading a lot of reviews, but can someone be a little more insightful on how Ed tagged this song? Did he play any of the music? Did he sing any of the lyrics? If so how much? Did it last 5 seconds, or a minute, or longer? Thanks to anyone who can provide as much info on this as possible.
words seem so out of place.

My friend was going to see Eddie last night. Since he was in Vegas, I gave him 5 Grand to gamble with. I told him I wanted it all to go on Black. Bastard! PhillyCrownOfThorns-11-2-12

Such an AWESOME tune. I believe it was included on a tape that was sent to (stone im guessing?) Before ed was in the band. I believe it had that song and a few other covers. Ed wrote the song , not sure who is playing the instruments.

Hope this helps a wee bit.

you mean that it was listed as a tag at one of his recent solo shows?

i stopped following the setlists after the first couple shows so i mustve missed this if that is in fact what youre talking about...

its a great song tho... id love to hear PJ try it out... just for nostalgia

Yes, many people who were at the second San Diego show, on the 16th, have said that he played part of it before playing No More, but so far I haven't seen anyone actually go in to some detail as to what part of the song was played, or how much, or really anything beyond saying a part of the song was played.

  • That was a Bad Radio song, the band Eddie Vedder was in long before Pearl Jam. There are some pretty awful Bad Radio songs, but 'Believe You Me' was a great one.

it was first a song Eddie recorded on his Summer '88 demo. You can find out more information about it here:

It was recorded on the Bad Radio demo, the easiest way to tell them apart is the quality, and obvious drum machine on the Vedder demo

If you want to download both versions of the song, you can find it in the Bad Radio folder at gremmie.net.

He definitely played the whole first verse and chorus . . . may have played more. I actually didn't recognize the significance until after the show. I knew I had heard the song before, but couldn't quite place it. Then I realized what it was and was like "AHHHHHHH!!!!" By then, however, No More had started and ended. So my mind is not perfectly clear on how much was done. But it was definitely both sung and played, on acoustic guitar.

Yeah, I felt the same way. I know I should have known the song, and recognized the title, but wasn't sure where it was from. It was a pretty good bit of it, at least a verse and chorus.
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

at SD2, he started strumming on an acoustic instrument the beginning notes of Believe You Me and my eyes popped out of their sockets. Being a non fanclub show, I looked around and saw complete confusion on everyone's faces. I knew exactly what it was and couldnt believe my ears but didnt want to say anything in fear of jinxing things and him stop playing it. He slowly and methodically sung a few verses that have thoughts and feelings leading into No More War. The very fact that he played some of it makes me happy as now I know he is mindful of the song, its relevance in today's issues, and its relevance being played back in SD. Just awesome

I think you and I were the only ones applauding like crazy when he tagged it. No one in my section had the first clue what the tag was or what the reference to San Diego was. Was it me or where there quite a few total knuckleheads at that show?
