everyone has a different set of ears.............like what you like ....I'm a fan. I've seen them 14 times so far and even when CCs voice isn't in top form live, overall the band as a whole makes it worth my while to be there......and in looking over the crowd, I can see they're feeling it too.....while it's hard NOT to compare the guys and CC to their past endevors, to me I feel they're doing what THEY want and love, together, and then share it with us. I sounds like the 3rd album will be different and may garner more attention than the 1st 2 combined. But I'm an optimist and that's my wishful thinking. If CC ever wants to do a solo album again, he will. It's just now is NOT the time.....try not to judge them more til Revelations comes out sometime in September.....

I really like their first album. Out of Exile I thought was a bit crappy.

I think they are pretty good, but so many of their songs are predictable. Morello is awesome, but a solo in every song? They aren't great solos IMHO either.

I love Chris Cornell's voice. I don't care what he sings, as long as he's still singing.
How dark a woe! yet how sublime a hope!
How silently serene a sea of pride!
How daring an ambition! yet how deep--
How fathomless a capacity for love!

I'm to the point where I can't stand his vocals in Audioslave. It's a pain listening to the bootlegs of Audioslave that I have.

I still love his vocals in his solo work, SG and TOTD.
  • I think the Rage Against the Machine boys are wasted in audioslave. Every time I hear audioslave I cringe at the generic sound. Plus audioslaves lyrics seem so boring and meaningless when compared to the message of RATM.

See, the funny thing is that I actually do like that song.... but I can't stand that stupid guitar solo. If I could find a way to edit the solo out I might actually put the song on a cd mix. But I don't have the right programs for that.

audioslave is a very good band. I saw them last year, cornell was amazing and like it or not, morellos guitar play is really good! their first album was amazing, their second was good. I was planning to see them again in europe this summer, let's hope they come later this year!

I seem to think all band members were in amazing groups to begin with and it is hard to jump to another band and be as good. Hell, can the Rage guys ever be in a band to compare with the energy of Rage? Any other band will be a disappointment.

I think Weiland did the switch with a group possibly as good as his previous band (we will see as Velvet Revolver progresses), but not many are so lucky.

Audioslave is too radio rock for me these days, but they did put on a good show when I saw them at lollapalooza a couple of years ago.

I wish all of Audioslave were in their old bands, but we obviously won't get that any time soon, so Audioslave is ok. Better than hearing another crappy Rock-Metal band on the radio.

Kind of helps that he got one of the best guitarists there ever was. IMO Slash is the best guitarist alive. On a top 100 list of those still living I'd put Slash at number one.

I enjoyed the first audioslave album but the second was really really bad. Cornell had a much better vocal performance with Soundgarden... I think ed hasnt declined with his vocals as much in comparison.

Damn! That's pretty heavy considering that David Gilmour, Jimmy Page, Warren Haynes, and Mike McCready are still alive...not to mention Gary Moore, Buddy Guy, Eric Crapton, and Robin Trower.

Personally, I put Prince ahead of Slash, but they're both in my top 25. :)

hey, where's john frusciante of the chili peppers on that list?!
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.
