pearl jam fans are by and large consider themselves too cool to even listen to my chemical romance. they assume that anything teenagers are buying now is crappy and inferior to their music. yet all the listen to is bands (like radiohead and pearl jam) that they got into when they were teenagers. ironic isnt it?
i havent heard the album. ive been curious, but im not gonna buy it off the cuff.0 -

I'm in the too smart to engage in the overwrought, faux-emotional crap that is MCR. It's tiresome. He and his ilk can channel Freddie Mercury until spandex is coming out of their asses but they are still beneath the scale of quality music and I'm just not going there.
But that's just me.

didnt people used to say the same things about pearl jam? overwought, angsty, super-serious and dramatic crap from a bunch of lumberjacks trying to change the world and channel the 60s.0 -

I honestly don't recall what anyone said about Pearl Jam...other than angsty and that was entirely correct. Calling something for what it is is a good thing. What I've called MCR is also correct.
I don't care for MCR (that was the original direction of the conversation, right?). They're horrid and they're music is bad form and if every Pearl Jam fan on the planet (and Ved, himself) truly adored them, I would still ignore them. I don't need anyone's validation to know what pleases me.

No mate, the reason no-one here like My Chemical ROmance is that they are shit. Talentless wankers who can't write a decent song to save their lives.
I had the misfortune of being cubjected to their "music" live and I nearly wanted to kill myself afterwards.
There is a BIG difference between Radiohead and MCR, that being that Thom York is an excellent songwriter. In fact, Thom Yorke is a fucking genius, this little foggt is far from it.
In the end, it's the music that counts, not what's cool, and it's the music that is shit.0 -
