Well, I listen to A LOT of Metal and although Slipknot are NOT Metal, they are as close as you can go without being some form of Metal. Their First Album sounded terrific to me and Their Second was more Death Metallish so I liked that and Their Third was like the Second but less heavy and some songs could've easily been on the First and had some guitar solos and just sounded good to me. The live album sucked major ass but his mask is AIR-TIGHT! So, it makes it hard for him to pronounce some letters such as A, N, and S while singing live. But, as much as you hate them they are better than Nicklecrap, Limpbizkit, Linkin Park, Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, Chamillionaire, "Fiddy" Cent, and many others.
I actually quite like Blind Melon (although I only know their first album, plus the odd single here and there.....I Wonder, Change etc are all songs I still like in a nostalgic sorta way)...I was merely mentioning some of the bands that frequent these HATE threads (and I do hate the rest I mentioned - sorry Live fans)
Another one of my favorite bands - that you all will say sucks - but I've stuck with them and still enjoy their music and think they are talented songwriters:

I'm not really into current trends of what 'sux' or 'rox' but I like the following bands that never seen to get much mentions maybe someone could tell me which catagory they are supposed to come under :

I hate these kinds of things because it's all a matter of opinion and for every human being on the planet there must be approximately 4895728456891451897586 differing opinions - BUT - I will say that the one band I am thoroughly sick of hearing about is 30 Seconds to Mars.
NakedClown - I too enjoy 7 Mary 3, though I hardly ever find anyone who likes/knows any song other than 'cumbersome'.

say what you want about slipknot.....live shows kick ass, they really do give it their all......there music isnt very enlightening, but corey taylor comes off with more vocal power than other singer i have ever heard period (first two albums, before he damaged himself from touring so much)
Not Live tho! - saw 'Live' live for the 2nd time earlier this year and they were fantastic. Such a difficult one tho, taste in music. There are a lot of bands I'm not keen on, but then they've got a couple of top songs. I bet a lot of you Live-loathers like 'I Alone'...

Their latest album was downright terrible; as in one big pile of shit. Anyhow, simply bc they have a large college age crowd doesnt mean older generations can't enjoy the show. They put on a 2+ hour show always full of energy and good jams.
