I agree - I think a difference must be made between bands that truly SUCK and bands that people DON'T LIKE for whatever reason such as chemistry. I think there is somewhat of a consensus that Limp Bizkit sucks in terms of the quality of just about everything. However to say Radiohead sucks, wow. I don't particularly like Radiohead. I gave them a chance, bought a couple albums, and it just didn't do much for me. Same with Coldplay. Just not my type of music. (Basically too mellow) But neither of those bands are bad quality, you know? ie. just because someone doesn't like Zeppelin doesn't mean they suck; it means that person doesn't like them. 2 different things.

wow, a mature 'other music' person that understands the difference between "suck" and "don't like"

    i'm very impressed.

Who doesn't know that difference, Limpbizkit sucks, but I just don't like Wolfmother(I actually like Wolfmother but I'm just giving an example).

  • Beck (like the aforementioned Radiohead ;) ) is one of the best artists around. Period. He's CONSISTANTLY brilliant and changing.

I think he falls under that "a lot of tools bash him because he's had a hit or two" column right now.

That and he's a fucking Scientologist!
If I could, think I would give in.

So what? Chick Corea is a Scientologist! And so is Issac Hayes.

  • I don't know Chick Corea... and Isaac Hayes is a fucking douche bag. OH, I QUIT SOUTH PARK BECAUSE THEY MADE FUN OF MY RELIGION WHEN THEYVE BASHED EVERYOTHER RELIGION UP TO THIS POINT AND I WAS FINE. Slutdick.

i think wilco and pavement are already considered to be two of the "greatest" bands of our generation.

pavement were probably one of the most influential bands of the nineties. check out there record "slanted and enchanted".

and wilco, well, im sure a lot of people on this board wil back me up. they are phenomenal. tweedy is a briliant song writer and pretty much all of their records are great. they are most likely the best live band around today, too.

pavement is great but I don't think i'd consider them the defining band of the nineties.

    GBV obviously gets that title.

what´s the big deal with pavement, arcade fire, wilco... they´re just good/normal bands for open shows.. when you would see pj opening an concert for other band, never ´´u2?´´....

and i don´t think pavement, wilco were more influential than ratm, korn or deftones...
