I'm in love with Arcade Fire

That's it.
I was going to title the thread 'I want to have an orgy with Arcade Fire' but that would've been a bit controversial.

Hands down, by leaps and bounds, superior to anything else put out this year.
Other than Radiohead's amazing new album, this is right up there.
2004 Boston I
2006 Boston I
2008 Bonnaroo, Hartford, Mansfield I
2010 Hartford
2013 Worcester I, Worcester II, Hartford
2016 Bonnaroo, Fenway I, Fenway II
2018 Fenway I, Fenway II
2021 Sea.Hear.Now
2022 Camden
2024 MSG I, Fenway I, Fenway II
it is a fantastic record but I don't know if it would make my top five, Ike Reilly's new album is about as close to perfect as music gets, Two Cow Garage is amazing and Spoon, Ted Leo and the New Pornos all have put out great albums. Although thsi could be because I played the shit out of neon bible when it came out

I put Spoon and New Pornographers in the tier right below Neon Bible. I haven't listened to those others yet. But Neon Bible is my favorite album of this decade to this point, so I doubt they would move beyond that.
Radiohead's album is better than the last two have been, but it still isn't as good as The Bends-OK Computer-Kid A.
[EDIT] Oh btw harmless it was you in the first place that got me listening to them with a thread you made after Neon Bible came out. Thanks.
you should go harmless... you wont regret it

No problem

No worries... the albums need to be heard in their entirety though, not in drips and drabs, so just buy em...

What bands do you listen to? U2? Oasis?

also, every other song theyve written is brilliant.
He's apparently 15. As I said in the indie music thread, I probably couldn't have loved Arcade Fire at that age. But I sure as hell love them now. Again, if you see them live and aren't completely moved by the beauty of it, you have to be broken on the inside. I cannot recall any concert experience more powerful than when they play Wake Up.
It's just a strange thing to say... overrated? OK so they might not be his taste but they've been critically applauded the world over... they are a brilliant band, there's nothing subjective about that.

I agree. Very poor word choice.
After All the praise they get and all the people telling me their like the best band of the decade... I was expecting much more then I got... but someone told me that I might have to listen to funeral before I appreciate neon bible... so i MIGHT try that out...
