non-ticket master outlets. I thought PJ had caved for this tour and taken the path of least resisitance... but maybe it is the venue's preference?
yes. not all venues are owned by livenation, which is still under their 10-year exclusive contract with ticketmaster. independent venues are free to use whatever ticketing system they choose.

Yeah, I don't think the Colonial Center is under contract with Ticketmaster.
I see from the Colonial Center's web site that floor tickets are still available. Does that mean we are absolutely guaranteed the best seats on the floor? Also, the tickets are only $57. If people that went through the general public sale wind up getting better tickets when I paid $71 for the supposed best seats in the house, I'll be extremely angry. Maybe I'm jumping the gun on this, but I don't want to be screwed out of seats that should go to 10 Clubbers.

is that 57 base price, or does it include tax and service charges? just because it isn't ticketmaster doesn't mean there won't be service charges.
oh, and don't bet anyone who bought tickets today will do better than your 10c seat. at least it would be highly unlikely...

Yeah once you add in all the fees for shipping, and colonial center fees they came out to like 69 dollars a ticket. So very close plus i'm hopeful my tickets will be better then what i woudl hve got if i went on today.

history shows that even if the concert is sold out, it's never sold out until showtime. and i mean pearl jam main performance showtime....
i've seen people lined up at venue box offices hours before the show starts, hoping they'll release another pair of tickets. you know, they never know exactly which seats might wind up being obstructed view or not. lots of times they'll keep seats from ever going on sale in anticipation of something. sometimes, on the day of the show after load-in, they find out they held out 8 tickets too many. the tour manager can inform the venue people, and those tickets can be placed in the system to be sold. sometimes it happens early. sometimes it happens mid-day. sometimes it happens 3 or 4 times during the day. sometimes tickets that were held by the venue for promotional purposes are determined to be not needed on DOS, so they go back in the system as well. sometimes people will tell the box office people "no thanks" if the tickets aren't good enough, and still score first couple of rows after a second or third release in a day...
i have seen, no, actually benefitted from my travelling bud having the balls to LEAVE THE VENUE after eddie's preset and buy a pair of FRONT ROW TICKETS from the venue box office. true, they were hard to the left, in front of some pa, but they were damn straight front fucking row tickets bought at like 8pm.
once i flew 1700 miles to hit a show. without tickets. bought a pair the day of, and wound up with 5th row. ok, it was behind the stage. but we were just above eye level, and there was no curtain or anything, so it was kinda like seeing the show from sitting on the back corner of the stage. one of us got a tambourine. i got an ed pick. it was dallas, 98, great seats to witness the rodman incident from...
so, yes, it is possible that some regular population tickets can wind up being as good as, or even better than, most 10c tickets. but it's unlikely they went onsale today. and the front row is and always has been 100% fan club. otherwise, there wouldn't have been bitching about the same old people down front every night.
is that 57 base price, or does it include tax and service charges? just because it isn't ticketmaster doesn't mean there won't be service charges.
oh, and don't bet anyone who bought tickets today will do better than your 10c seat. at least it would be highly unlikely...
OK, yeah, that's base price. But still, I went through the process without actually ordering tickets and it would have been 10 bucks cheaper to go through the CC box office. Not a huge amount, but still, it's the principle of the thing....
I'm just thinking that since I haven't seen a whole lot of people talking about their 10 C seats for this show, that it could be a possibility. I guess I did jump the gun, but that was my first reaction.
And I just talked to a buddy of mine who bought tickets right when they went on sale this morning and he's in the middle of Section 104. I'm starting to feel better about tickets now...
