Like Dallas, Austin , San antonio and Houston....but if only one...Austin would be grand.
Austin would be freakin sweet, as long as they didn't play the Erwin Center. Fan Club only show at Stubbs!

I know, but a boy can dream.

Yeah Stubb's would be insane. I would expect a riot actually, just judging by how packed it was for MMJ in November. As for Austin, the only place they could play is Frank Erwin since I highly doubt they would play a general admission show at zilker park.

i love how tybird adds his banner after almost every post - constant shameless bumps. i think he does it because of all the TX talk. truthfully i'm not even getting my hopes up and wouldn't be surprised if they played shows in georgia, florida, tennessee, virginia, nola, and left tx out.

    (your friendly neighborhood pj pessimist)

    I guess 10C didn't like my idea.

Anyway, I just got out of the shower and was thinking more about T-shirts.....
    Is this a dumb idea?
I thought at each stop on the Southern tour one of us "faithful" could throw a shirt up onto the stage....

Hell, if someone has access to inexpensive shirts, I could do the design - I've done it several times. I'd be willing to handle the distribution and sale.

    dumb idea?

Not a dumb Idea at all! I can provide a few shirts? how many we talking?

Hey! Maybe you can even attach to one of the shirts my "play In Fla" sign (it is on a man's handkerchief) that Ed responded to at Lisbon II.
I would never get close enough to the stage to throw. Got a crappy 10c number.

  • Just try. Try to name a part of the country -- or the world, for that matter --that's done more for music in the last 150 years than these Southern United States.

We birthed the blues. We launched rock 'n' roll. We've been the seat of gospel, the bastion of bluegrass, the home to the world's hottest hip-hop. We've dug deep down to our Nappy Roots, fostered Stephen Foster, screamed "Sweet Home Alabama" and gotten straight-up Ludacris, from Memphis to Mobile to Uncle Tupelo.

Southern music encompasses all kinds of styles, yet it hangs together as a coherent genre. Nobody's ever heard of New England music or Midwestern music, but down here we know that rock can have soul and rap can be country, and even wimpy folk can count so long as it's got Carolina in its mind. Southern music's more of a sensibility than a sound.

The South is about big ideas (like pain and redemption) and small pleasures (like the look of grandma's hands). The South is also increasingly diverse -- racially, economically and politically.

If our music has a common thread, it's the thread of hope -- hope that this mystical land won't lose all that's made it special and that it's not too proud to admit when it's wrong. Those are some big challenges. But they're nothing the music can't handle.

It's gettin close-Pearl Jam Southern Style-I can feel it!
man it's been a long year since the album came out and reading all these fanviews from all over the world, but i have a positive feelin this little birdy is bringing good vibrations
“It’s the idea that people living close to nature tend to be noble. It’s seeing all those sunsets that does it. You can’t watch a sunset and then go off and set fire to your neighbor’s tepee. Living close to nature is wonderful for your mental health.”

    Daniel Quinn
