Group of 7 is the only Rheos album I don't own. I've looked all over town for it, but nobody seems to carry it. One of these days I'm just gonna order it online.

It's definitely one of my favorites. It is actually what got me into them. Sad I know... but I am a newer Rheostatics fan. Better late than pregnant they say.

I picked up the Rheostatic Tribute - the Secret Sessions off of the Zunior site on the weekend....bought the download version and ordered the actual disc.

I got a chance to listen to it a couple times - its REALLY good.....loving the Weeping Tile, Weakerthans, Cuff The Duke and Inbreds songs so far, good stuff.

Mr Wolf - you MUST get the Group Of 7 album.....its AMAZING. I saw them perform the entire album at the Art Gallery Of Ontario when it was released. They played in front of a screen projecting Group of 7 paintings - really beautiful stuff. It was an INCREDIBLE show (one of my favourite Rheos evenings).

I had a religous experience listening to the Group of 7 album this past summer up at a cottage we rent. It was 1 in the morning....I sat out on the dock, smoked a J, sipped on a beer and listened to the whole album with my heaphones on. It was such an incredible experience - the moon reflecting on the lake where the "treeline shadows impose on the blackest sky (Weeping Tile)". It is such a great mood/atmosphere album

I love that lyric! "Good Fortune" is probably my favorite Weeping Tile tune. I'll have to see if I can order the Group of 7 album online. Maplemusic probably has it.
"I try my best to chug, stomp, weep, whisper, moan, wheeze, scat, blurt, rage, whine, and seduce. With my voice I can sound like a girl, the boogieman, a Theremin, a cherry bomb, a clown, a doctor, a murderer. I can be tribal. Ironic. Or disturbed. My voice is really my instrument."

....definitely my favorite Weeping Tile song (that or In The Road) - I used to sing it to my son all the time when he was first born, late at night to calm him down (he's a huge Sarah Harmer fan ;) )....."I thank my lucky stars tonight, that you are here, your eyes so blue, so bright." (he has blue eyes too ;))

....if Maple doesn't have the Group of 7 album I think Zunior.com will (I believe they are in charge of the entire Rheos catalogue now)

Cool. Thanks for the tip! I actually just found it on Maplemusic.com for $15.00, so I'm gonna go with them. I'm not much of a digital music guy, and my crappy outdated laptop doesn't have a CD burner. What can I say, I'm old school.

I also just ordered the Rheostatics tribute CD. Can't wait to hear it!
