Rage Against the Machine. They rock the hardest.
Doesnt Zack kinda sound like Beetlejuice from the Howard Stern show?

I would say EASILY Nine Inch Nails... Trent is the most amazing musician of our time.
  • The Beatles, Petty...way to many to name....each group named has left a mark on music history in their own way.

2nd to Pearl Jam would probably be Oasis.

I'm really big on the new Strokes album right now, it's so good.

For me, the best band other than Pearl Jam would definitely be Modest Mouse. If you aren't familiar with these guys, you can't go wrong by purchasing The Moon and Antartica. It's one of the best albums I've ever heard. Period.

    Other great bands:
The Arcade Fire (although I need to hear more from them)
    Alice in Chains
    Soundgarden
    Radiohead
    Muse
    I also love PJ Harvey

The clash are the only band close to Pearl Jam for me.

Maybe someday that will change, in the place from where we came,
But in the mean time thanks for the example, in the mean time thanks for giving us hope...'

I second that. Although I must say that they are a quite "uncomfortable" band. Their last record is probably the most accessible but the older stuff takes some time to get used to. But once you get into them they're just mind-blowing. So dont give up too easily.

For anyone interested, you can stream two of their older songs here http://www.epitonic.com/artists/modestmouse.html

Worms Vs. Birds is really great although it takes a while to get used to it ;)
Well, do you need a lot of what you've got to survive?

  • Modest Mouse

I'll second that, unless someone else already seconded it, then I'll third, and so on and so forth.

    Slayer !!!

They've been around since 1983, so for more than 20 years.. They've never turned commercial like all other metal bands in the early 90's. They've influenced a lot of bands by their aggressive sound.. They make amazing shows, just like pearl jam... Slayer is huge !!!

    Tool also deserves a mention...
