Pearl Jam is the best band in my opinion...

What is your other favourite act around...you should name only ONE!

If I have to pick up only one it would surely be DEPECHE MODE who just like Ed & co never ever let me down (nor albums either shows)!!!
What a fuckin' lucky person I am to have the possibility to see these two favourite acts in the same year!!! DM first

21 March Budapest [tomorrow]
22 March Zagreb [day after tomorrow]
11 June Bratislava
12 June Budapest

But Pearl Jam??? W H E N again???????

amen....NO one alive today is more significant to modern rock music (aside from maybe Chuck Berry) than the Stones. THey raise the bar for several things: Longevity, commercial success, (sadly) high ticket prices (although some credit The Eagles reunion tour for that), definition of a frontman (lets be honest here, No one can work a stage better than Mick Jagger), and creating and maintaining an image. (Keith Richards has been the prime example of "cool" for about 35 years now).

While I love Pearl Jam, their music, and many things they stand for ( truly beleive they are the only current band whose impression left will be in the same league as the stones, U2 included)....There is no one like the Stones.
There's Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Robert Johnson......and then everybody else.

the rolling stones for sure. they've been my favorite band for as long as i've been listening to music.
there are other good bands out there or not out there anymore, but there is a thread about that somewhere here so i don't list them out.

can we do some trading then? I have just about every stones show available (around 350 at least). I am always on the lookout for new traders to work with.

  • It's tough to think of my next favorite, since Pearl Jam is at a level of their own, and then there seems to be a bunch at a level below them, but I would have to say that it is

    The White Stripes

    (Sorry Tom Petty)

Current?, tough one, possible queens of the stone age but I love Kings of Leon.

    All time? Zeppelin, Floyd, Hendrix.

    R.E.M.

Their influence is often underrated, but more than any other band around in the 80's, they were the beginners of the indie/alternative scene; in fact, many modern rock bands such as Radiohead, Nirvana, and the almighty Pearl Jam have cited R.E.M. among their biggest influences. Plus, they continue to be brilliant today!

Also, Radiohead, who have used musical creativity to bring a whole new sound to rock (which has unfortunately been mimicked by countless bands since), and who put on a stunning live show.
