Scott Weiland the melodyman, if he cant sing it no one can. I find it so funny how some people say, Scott was too good for VR. Or some say he wasnt good enough. Bottom line is Contraband, and Libertad were great. Vr put on an amazing live show. Wish they would of stuck together. Now his solo album will be amazing, as all his work is.
I saw VR a few times, and they did put on a decent live show, but none of those times were as good as when I saw STP - who just had better songs.
Scott needs to get his shit together before I even think about taking him serious anymore.

I give up on Weiland, and I'm very disappointed to say so...but he's ruined his own name, a lot of people don't take him seriously anymore, me included.

So I ended up getting it in like 15 minutes... A lot of times our network at work really slows torrents down, but this kicked in pretty good.
Anyway, I'm 4 songs in, and while the 4th (paralysis) is ok, the first three were very strong. I'm liking this album so far.

I'm really loving this record, Tangle With Your Mind is BRILLIANT! Such a cool upbeat kind of tune, it reminds me of the summer time! Big Black Monster is another favourite, it's quirky but soooooo catchy it kind of reminds me of QOTSA.

Yes Tangle With Your Mind is one of my favs too, great stuff. I'm also really diggin' Crash, She Sold Her System, and Paralysis. Big Black Monster is solid too.
The vocals on the album (sans the songs I mentioned) are a tad of a disappointment to me, as in I wish they were a little more turned up in the mix. And some songs I feel are not the greatest vocally from Scott, like Missing Cleveland. But hey it's still growing on me...Scott's stuff has to grow on you. Can't wait to see what STP can do in 09.....
I think that's true for a lot of artists, lol. I think other people sometimes forget that almost every other classic artist was as big of an addict as Weiland is.
But, it's not the 70's anymore, so he get's a lot of flack for it.

Tangle With Your Mind is good... I also like Blind Confusion, it seems like something that you'd hear in a cheesy John Hughes 80's movie.
The first three songs are good, then it really drops off (imho) with Paralysis and doesn't get much better from there. The Fame cover is weak.

FYI, this is a double album as well...what has leaked so far is the single disk version. Apparently some of the best songs aren't on the single release.

Best Buy was offering this only last week. Last night I checked again and all they are showing is a 10 song single disc version- same price as the double they had listed last week. Does anyone know what the story here is? I was going to have someone order this for me and I'm wondering if it'll be worth the trouble or not (me being a non-US resident and all).

Totally agree. I'm digging the two new solo tunes too. Much better than the new Cornell SHIT.

Hahaha... I actually laughed out loud at that.
I really dig that Paralysis song, too. Can't wait for Happy Galoshes....
Whoa really?! I need it! I was hoping for a leak. Don't worry I plan to buy it too. Please send it to me if anyone finds it! Many thanks in advance.

Yeah it's running slow for me too.
From the clips up on amazon it sounds like it's going to be pretty damn good, very eclectic but still melodic - I can't wait!
Vinyl release is a must. Seems to be a very textured album.

haha that's a definite possibility! But I'm hoping they (mainly Weiland) can pull their shit together...

The new record is good. Fuckin weird, but good. A couple definite misses, but some solid marks as well. No radio jams or full rockers on this one.
