If there was a Pearl Jam Tribute album with bands from this decade

Who would you want on it? Pick 10 bands and dont pick them just because they are your favorite bands (obviously Explosions In The Sky couldnt exactly do a Pearl Jam cover). If you want to, even pick what song you might like them to cover.

Jet
The Vines
The Strokes
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
Editors
The Shins
The White Stripes
TV On The Radio
Interpol
Coldplay
Alpine Valley 2000
Summerfest 2006

Congratulations, you've managed to compile an album entirely full of bands I don't really like.

And WHY couldn't Explosions in the Sky do a Pearl Jam cover?

Same here, the only decent band on that list is The White Stripes. I would hate it so much if this was ever to happen.
    Astoria 20/04/06, Leeds 25/08/06, Prague 22/09/06, Wembley 18/06/07,
    Dusseldorf 21/06/07, Manchester 17/08/09, London 18/08/09, LA 06/10/09, LA 07/10/09.

Ain't gonna be any middle anymore.

So you basically dont like music from this decade? I guess they could but they wouldnt and they dont really do anything outside their sound.

Most bands would ruin the songs for me, if I'm perfectly honest. The PJ versions are unbeatable.

I would love to hear Mudhoney do a cover of Comatose or Lukin.

I would want the White Stripes to cover something, but I'm not sure which song yet -- maybe Black, Red, Yellow

Incubus to cover Nothing as it Seems.

REM to cover In Hiding....I think Stipe's voice on that song would be amazing

that's about all the bands I would want to cover Pearl Jam...

Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

There are quite a few bands I like from this decade, yep, but none from pjoasisrule's list.

OK, this'd be the most non-commercial album in the world but here I go:

Kings of Leon - Given to Fly
Arcade Fire - Love Boat Captain
    Elbow - Long Road
    Block Party - Rearviewmirror
    Kimya Dawson - Elderly Woman
    Midlake - Indifference
Neutral Milk Hotel - Tremor Christ
Seasick Steve - Man of the Hour
    Sigur Ros - Arc
    Wintersleep - Black
    NIN - Animal
    Radiohead - Present Tense

Wow, look at that.. no Avocado. Oh well. *shrug* :)

I like what a few people said

    R.E.M-In Hiding would be cool
    Radiohead-WMA would be cool

    and

Mankind-Weezer I think could be really awesome. I could see all these bands doing these songs justice but still having their own feel to it.

23.5% (no, seriously) of my collection is from the 00s. I don't like the bands you listed either, bar TV on the radio and a few Shins songs. There ARE other bands besides those in the Billboard 100 you know. You came closest with EitS. I'd like to hear them doing a 10 minute guitar version of Arc.

That was pretty funny but you ruined it by the last line.

They fill the criteria of the type of band he was referencing, whether or not they are the same KIND of alt-rock wannabes.

I like some of the bands suggested on here, the Rage cover of DTE would be amazing and would fit so well, Id like to hear Muse put their own spin on Nothing as it Seems

The band all knows. We're too afraid to mention.

NICE! Seriously, it doesn't get anymore wannabe than naming your band after your idols song (GODSMACK)

both sound good to me, and i'd love to hear them play otherside
