I have been listening to this alot the few days, super mellow but such a great album. Listening to this makes me even more mad that Zeitgeist was ever released. Even the worst Pumpkins is far better than Zeitgeist.

while i agree that zeitgeist was pretty horrible, the 4 song acoustic EP they released shortly after it was a return to form for the pumpkins IMO... im looking forward to the next album... hopefully itll have less keyboards

You mean American Gothic? I thought it was also horrible.

I haven't really liked any Pumpkins since Mellon Collie....Adore had a few good tracks, the rest has been, IMO, very mediocre.

Sad, considering Siamese Dream is one of my all time favorite albums.

  • Zeitgeist is fucking amazing. Especially hearing the songs live three times at the fillmore in SF.

I generally don't like everything on their cds, but I like some of the songs *very much* so I just listen to what I like.

its all about the live shows.

Check out songs from the 1998 tour on youtube, they had some crazy sounds and percussion at the shows, awesome.

I gotta say Im a pretty huge fan of the entire pumpkins catalogue. I think Billy can do whatever the hell he wants and make it sound amazing ya know. Like you could give that guy a friggin swiffer sweeper and a piece of gum and he could make a cool song out of it. I mean I know there are a few tracks from Machina that are total wtf moments but overall I think he's great. And I would say I think Zeitgeist was the best album I heard that year. (far better than the avacado imo)

Yeah, I think he's got a lot of talent too. Even though he can't always sing and he sometimes steals bits of songs from other places... ;):D

His voice is for sure an aquired taste that you either love or hate. As far as stealing bits of songs.... like thats never been done before cough*giventofly*cough

Yes, it has been done before, it's just so very obvious at times. He has bass-lines and rhythms he's lifted from well-known songs and he doesn't even try to hide them!! :)

Ehhh...I'm going to disagree with you there.

Adore is very, very underrated and has some amazing songs. Corgans vocals are exceptional on the album. American Gothic sounded like suck rock.

While I greatly enjoy Adore, I agree with the previous comment in that Jimmy should've been there. I remember Billy once said that had he been there then Adore would've sounded a lot like "In the Arms of Sleep" from Mellon Collie.

Slightly off topic but, could anyone tell me if "Pisces Iscariot," is worth a listen?
Obviously i have heard the song "Landslide," but i am not sure whether the rest of the album is worth a listen.
    Any input would be nice.
