    early snoop is tight.

no credit to ANY SINGLE PERSON who posted here. youve created top ten rapper lists with no mention on KRS ONE?

Gangster rap has become a parody of itself. Check out a book called Can't Stop, Won't Stop: A history of the Hip Hop Generation. Kool Herc's editorial says it perfectly. Gangster Rap is at this moment in time a shadow of what groups like N.W.A. were about and Snoop epitomises this.

doggystyle awful? no offence, you are from ireland. that music is not for the rolling hills of ireland. its for chillin on the west coast and smoking bud. how old are you? when that shit came out, there was NOTHING better. NOTHING. that album is on every, top 25 hiphop albums all time list.. you know nothing about this matter.

ganster rap has BECOME a parody of itself, when it was being born, it was the shit. original and new.

Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!

My list on the first page of this thread has krs-one in it. I would have liked to have common sense or gza on there as well but they got worked out of the top 10 ever. This is what were debating right? While I love the first snoop album and both chronic albums I just don't get how anyone could have snoop, eminem, or dr dre in any way shape or form in the top 10. Dre is one of the top producers not rappers.

And you're from the ghetto of Vancouver?
Your entire arguement is completely arbitrary, just because you're America's next door neighbour makes you no more or less of an authority on this than me. I don't like the album, and just because it was one of the better albums at the time of its release doesn't mean a thing. Don't get me wrong the production on the album is sweet but I think Snoop is horrendously overrated.
P.S. Cheers for the birthday wishes.

Nah, your missing something i think. For one, that culture/geography etc. make a huge difference, like when you hear the beach boys in Belgrade. For two, snoop had some prime moments.

To imply that my opinion is nothing more than the product of my location is grossly arrogant and ignorant. What was in what I said that could be undermined by where I live?
Also, 'prime moments' does not constitute a good artist never mind one who makes it into the top ten of their genre and it is Snoops inconsistency that my opinion is based on.

No particular order, just the ones I probably enjoy listening to the most...

    Tupac
    Jurassic 5
    Talib Kweli
    Sage Francis
    Atmosphere
    Public Enemy
    Nas
    Mos Def

Maybe Jay-Z before he went all commercial...

And while maybe not a rapper per se - Zack de la Rocha definitely deserves to be one there.

    Zack De La Rocha
    Tupac

my authority in this matter comes from 17 years of listening to this music, spinning this music and having over 300 BOUGHT cds of this music. snoop is not on my list. doggystyle as one of the best albums along with the chronic is. me living in Vancouver.....has nothing to do with my knowledge. but since doggstyle talks of the west coast incessantly i would relate to the album a lot more than an irish. i live closer to whats being talked about....

umm...hello??? zach de la rocha is not a fucking rapper. well he sort of raps to his rock music but i'll tell you if he was a rapper there is no way he'd belong on a top ten list for the best of all time. no disrespect to rage against the machine either, i am a fan.

I agree, I dont even think he would classify himself as a rapper. Most rappers rhyme.........Zach does very little rhyming in his lyrics.

We're whiter and have better endo here in B.C. Snoops flow fits perfectly with Dre's beats on "The Chronic" and "Doggystyle". "Laid back, with my mind on my money and my money on my mind".
