Love the lyrics but he loses his flow in many songs. I would include him though if I had a few more spots....

Vocally Rakim is the king. In term of delivery Slick Rick is magic.
Most rapper take themselves too seriously. Rakim falls into this category sometime.
Don't get me wrong, I think he's awsome. 'Paid In Full', just pure class.

Guy to check out is Kamanchi Sly of British rap group Hijack. Their '91 album 'Horn Of Jericho' is just fantastic

I'd go with you Matty Boy, but I'd put Method Man higher (maybe at No. 3 behind Ice Cube) and pull Ice T right down.

and I'm not sure if RZA should technically be included
If you all stop hitting refresh for just two minutes, I can buy my tickets...

Anyone heard Guru's jazz album 'Jazzamatazz'?
One track features Guru trading rhymes with MC Solaar. Awesome.
For some reason French suits rapping really well. Sounds great.

Couldn't say the 'best' but here's a few great ones:
    Talib Kweli
    Nas
    Soup (Jurrassic 5)
    Chali Tuna (Jurrassic 5)
    B-Real
    Lupe Fiasco
    Zach De La Rocha

Oh and by the way, Snoop Dogg is not a rapper, he's a fucking joke, he is so overhyped it is unreal, so so soooo cringeworthy.

THANK YOU! FINALLY!! I can't imagine for the life of me why these people are actually calling him a rapper, never mind saying he's the best.

    Check out Doggystyle
    I have, it's awful.
Gangster rap has become a parody of itself. Check out a book called Can't Stop, Won't Stop: A history of the Hip Hop Generation. Kool Herc's editorial says it perfectly. Gangster Rap is at this moment in time a shadow of what groups like N.W.A. were about and Snoop epitomises this.

Him and *shudders* 'P Diddy' baffle me. They undermine everything that made and still makes hip hop such a powerfull and arresting musical genre.

I still dont understand the bashing of Snoop in his early days, I can understand everything after Doggystyle but this album and his stuff on The Chronic are actual classics.
