I don't get PJ's decision to release these vinyl records. Being an eco-conscious band, why would they put out a petroleum based non-sustainable product that most of us will never listen to because we don't own record players? I get the nostaglia aspect of putting it out and it being a collectors item but realistically I think a lot of these will end up in trash dumps as the years go by. Certainly they are aware of this aspect and I would like to hear their logic behind releasing vinyl records.
let me know when your throwing yours out!
Makes much more sense, to live in the present tense

First off, vinyl records do not degrade as you think they do. They will last much longer than any CD will. In addition, CDs get lost, scratched, and broken all the time leading to more waste. I'm certain more landfill space will be used for Into the Wild CDs than for the vinyls.
Plenty of fans like myself will listen to their records. Yes, some will keep it sealed as a collector's item, but those may eventually get into the hands of others who will play it.
I believe the band's main reason for continuing to support the vinyl format is it's superior sound. Anytime music is digitized parts are lost, but the vinyl recordings are analog so you can hear everything. When you listen to a CD you may not be able to hear everything that was on the recording, and even more is lost in the mp3 format.

it'll have to do!!! (it's still pretty good, too!)
sorry, will it be under specials or vinyl?
The CD is under 'Specials' and 'CD/DVD/Vinyl' so I'd think the vinyl will be under both. But in doubt I'd go with CD/DVD/Vinyl.
im checking specials first....
20 minutes...its my day off and im still bleary eyed from waking up, i hope i get one!
agree on the specials section...also think there will be plenty of copies....BUT I'm not taking any chances....15 minutes....!!!!
