I didn't catch Roger Waters. Anyone know where I can see their performance?

I'm sorry, I thought Roger Waters SUCKED. I saw him live a month ago and he was MUCH MUCH MUCH better.

    The Foos we're incredible.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

I didn't see the whole thing, but the Foo Fighters kicked ass. The Police were awesome too until Kanye West walked out on stage and f**kin' ruined everything. Did Sting actually invite him, or did he just walk out there with a microphone?
"I try my best to chug, stomp, weep, whisper, moan, wheeze, scat, blurt, rage, whine, and seduce. With my voice I can sound like a girl, the boogieman, a Theremin, a cherry bomb, a clown, a doctor, a murderer. I can be tribal. Ironic. Or disturbed. My voice is really my instrument."

What was the name of the song the Pumpkins opened with?

I hated the Police performance because Stewart Copeland looked mentally disabled.

The Smashing Pumpkins was good, and so was Roger Waters (though I kind of agree with the other poster- he was a bit off tonight compared to what I saw a couple weeks ago). I really liked Alicia Keys' set, too, plus she is fucking hot. I enjoyed the Police set, too.

I didn't see them all but John Mayer was the best IMO.

What's with Madonna playing the Les Paul? She looked very fish-out-of-water-ish.

What is my imagination, or did Billy Corrigan tell the drummer not to fuck up right as the Pumkins started playing. I'm no lip reader but he didn't look happy about something the drummer was doing.

Richie Sambora needs to do away with the 80's rock star look.
I smile, but who am I kidding...

On the BBC's late coverage we only got Bullets, and at the start of that he clearly says to Jimmy "tell him to shut the f*** up", referring to someone off stage, or possibly one of the roadies/stage crew...

Performance seemed good, not stellar though.

    Foos absolutely ripped it up.

I never heard of that guy who covered Shelter from the Storm, but Alicia Keys' performance on that was outstanding!

    Keane was my fav
I've never understood the Foo Fighter's appeal. It's just a bunch of noise & yelling to these ears

Are you referring to her collaboration with Keith Urban on the Rolling Stones' "Gimme Shelter"? I'm not a Keith Urban fan but I thought they both did a great version of it.

  • Top 5 that i saw.

    Roger Waters
    Foo Fighters
    Crowded House
Wolfmother (for what they are i thought they rocked)
The Police (minus Message in a Bottle sorry Kanye!)

    Honorable mention Spinal tap

    worst performances

Linkin Park (the crowd sang better than Chester)
Metallica (performance wasnt terrible but just seemd like routine for them)
Chili Peppers ( band is great Anthony seemed off)
Chris Cornell ( better accoustic than with a live band these days)
    Bon Jovi

One thing I noticed about Metallica is they look so old now...time is ticking for that band.
  • funkymonkfunkymonk Posts: 279
Foo Fighters (seemed to blow everyone else away!!)
    Metallica
    RHCP
    Smashing Pumpkins
Lenny Kravitz (I kept switching the channel between his set and the Pumpkins)

For anyone that caught the Peppers' set who was the second guitarist that played with them but more in the background? As for Anthony being off, I felt the same way. He didn't seem to have much energy. I could have sworn that at the end of their set he apologized for being sick.

I'm surprised so many people included the Police in their list. I really wanted to into their performance but it just kind of bored me. Some of their songs would start out great but they would lose their momentum from the middle to the end.
