I like lots of rap artists like Mos Def, The Roots, etc. but "lil" wayne? no thanks.
Basic Rule Of Thumb #27:
If the singer's name contains 'Lil' in it... it normally translates to 'Big Piece Of Shit'. (ref. Li' Kim, Lil Bow Wow, Li' Romeo, et. al.)
Hail, Hail!!!
Lil' Wayne does not. Tupac, Biggie, Atmosphere, Flobots, Wu-Tang Clan, Mos Def, The Roots do not. There are more.
I personally think people should try to expand their horizons.

he "rhymes" words with themselves in many of his songs. fail.
good stuff!
think what you might. but you couldn't do it.
I'm just patiently waiting for the new D.R.E album myself.
wouldnt want to.
also couldnt accidentally shoot myself while trying to load a gun.
I hope that he dies. And his death'll come soon. I will follow his casket in the pale afternoon.
And I'll watch while he's lowered down to his deathbed. And I'll piss on his grave 'til I'm sure that he's dead.
any rap that gets air time on top 40 radio is garbage!
underground cats like wise intelligent, immortal technique!that's real hip-hop. they spit political shit Ed would be scared to sing!!
Anyone on that label is a completely talentless ass clown...
Like a prior post said, rule of thumb is that if you have "Lil" in your name, you suck donkey
Sorry rap music gives me a headache.
First off, I like some rap/hip-hop... but most of it is underground.
Aesop Rock is my favorite rapper... I just enjoy his music a lot... I also dig The Roots, Jurassic 5, Mr. Lif, Cannibal Ox... pretty much anything on the Def Jux label.
Commercial Rap is just that, it's about making money and they rap about stupid things... I don't care how they sound or how they act in life, the lyrical content is trash and it makes me feel silly for listening to it... Lil Wayne included...
EDIT: Here's an example of an Aesop Rock song, this is fairly recent. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1u43KDiWD0
