Anyone get this cd yet? After liking their last two alot, mostly b/c of their up tempo songs, I am a little disappointed by this one.
There seems to be a bunch of slow filler songs, but when they pick the speed up such as in "please just pass...." I like it.
What are your opinions?

  • A massive improvement on Eyes Open; only a few crap songs on this one. The Lightning Strike is awesome, I love the minimalist piano section about 5 minutes in. Lifeboats and the Golden Floor are reminiscent of the Songs For Polarbears/When It's All Over days which is a great, great thing.

It sure is, it's probably my favourite of theirs. You may well like a lot of the new album as it's a bit experimental (if you see what I mean) like the old days.

personally like it, its exacly what I thought it would be, chart radio rock designed for big arenas.....but its ok at the same time.....
  • I'd say its a good album with 2-3 filler songs. I liked Eyes Open better, but I would recommend A Hundred Million Suns.

Another Songs For Polarbears fan? That album had a lot of PJ influences on it, people here would like it.

I can't believe people seriously consider Eyes Open to be a good album; 80% of it is repetitive ballads. You crazy Americans!

I have been reading alot of negative reviews of Eyes Open, but it is my favourite of theirs. I guess everyone has their own opinion.
Hundred Million is growing on me more and more.
