Been listening to Neil for years, ever since I found After the Gold Rush amongst my Nans record collection(sandwiched between the likes of the Bay City Rollers and Daniel O'Donnell). Yesterday was the first time I heard Zuma though, classic it is!! So, "Cortez the Killer" is clearly about old Hernando Cortes, didn't know..............just thought I'd share, well into Chrome DreamsII, never seen him live.

I'm kinda feeling the same :o

having said that, I'm listening to the Live at Massey Hall album and I'm thinking about how much I'd love to see Neil play A Man Needs A Maid and Helpless live. Like, I'd kill to.

  • There is a cover of Neil Young's I'm The Ocean on A.V.T's page.http://www.myspace.com/anotherviolettrust2

Maybe but I need to budget for the summer. The more money I have, the more lazing about in parks drinking, the more parties in my new student house, the less I have to work in a garden centre :)

    Life is HARD ;)

You could pretty much walk to 'Neilfest', and let's face it, it could be your last chance to see the fella. I mean how long does he leave between tours of the UK? Not long, quite a while, a long time, or Pearl Jam standard ?

I'll just say that I waited a long time to see Neil, and that came true in March, and the guy was simply incredible, I mean something else. If you like him, you should experience him live.

    neil is great, but

what makes the lineup good is MMJ and the grass
    very good live acts

    50 is cheap
I paid close to $200 to see neil in NYC
    AWESOME, just awesome

Fair enough, but Primal Scream are a very good live at also, and as for the grass, well I've advised Linda not to bring any across the border ;)

    rimshot!

    True True
Im a huge supergrass fan and I would live to see tham at a big festival.
But only small gigs here, which is pretty good too!

and Jeremy, Neil sat down at the grand piano and did a man needs a maid solo
I am certain it is on the set list.

    And it was AWESOME

From reports of his run at Hammersmith, the set changed everynight. He has so many great songs though, who cares which we get to hear?
    ;)

The set did change every night, but it was a variation of a theme rather than a radical change. Probably just over 2 thirds of the set was the same, with the rest being shifted around.

The MB festival looks great, think it's a brill idea. I imagine it being more of an alternative Latitude.

I was going to say, if I find no-one to come to Werchter, I might go to this instead and stay at my friend's place (who lives a few miles down the road).
but then I saw the rest of the line-up ...NOT MMJ!... EVER ...AGAIN!
not even with a pound of weed!
