as much as i love PJ. i doubt that they will be electied to the R&R HoF . other then being the only band to stay together from the beginning of the Grunge era. - a few drummer changes. i dont think that they have everything the Hall will be looking for...
2 bands come to mind as bands that arent there, Genesis & Scorpions
Genesis, had 2 of the best frontmen ever. 1 is Peter Gabriel the 2nd is Phil Collins. their music spanned 3+ decades.
Scorpions , had some of the best Gutiarists ever in R&R.

Ya Right.
This is one of the most way off reality posts i've seen on here. They are actually exactly what the R & R Hall is looking for. Huge commercial success aswell as uncompromised integrity. I could care less about the damn HOF but they are a flat out no brainer entry. Pearl Jam not making the HOF would be like Major League Baseball saying Willie Mays isn't quite what were looking for in a Hall Of Fame player, just doesn't have the credentials, he just didn't have enough triples.

My friend was going to see Eddie last night. Since he was in Vegas, I gave him 5 Grand to gamble with. I told him I wanted it all to go on Black. Bastard! PhillyCrownOfThorns-11-2-12
All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.
I'm not fully up to date on who's in and who's not, but I don't think any of the bands suggested so far are HOF worthy....my two cents.
And I, like another poster, would be a bit surprised if PJ gets in....stupid if they don't for sure, but somehow I just don't see it. But there is still time for them to make themselves a lock for it so time will tell
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow
They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all
Not familiar with their early work, eh??? If Genesis isn't R&R...how does justify Madonna???

Rush should be in there by far...30 years of music, amazing musicians, loyal to fans, never been premadonnas or assholes, and huge commercial success throughout their career.
...i don't see how pearl jam WON'T be in there..The only band i can see maybe not making it out of the "grunge" era would be Alice in Chains..I hope they do but I think they'll get snubbed.

seriously, PJ has one of the largest traveling fan bases in the world. They're getting old, so old they will soon be considered the charter participants of rock n roll. Not only did they elaborate and expand the spectrum of rock, but they have long been noted and respected members of the musician community. shoe in

Geesh.
I actually agreed with him. Some of you guys are just too drunk on the Kool-Aid to look at things from a non-fanatic point of view. Listen: I love PJ. The only band I might like better is The Beatles (because if you ask me, there's The Beatles, and then there's everyone else). Sure, they've been around a long time and they're really the only band from that era who is still putting out music and touring, but aside from those first 2 albums, I don't think you can call them a "huge commercial success". I mean, the fact that they're not huge mega-stars and everyone and their brother listens to them is part of what all of you like, right? The feeling that you know something most others don't. And let's face it: they've built and sustained their career on their live shows. MANY people wrote them off completely after the (I know you don't want to admit it, but it's the truth) back-to-back commercial flops of Binaural and Riot Act. Sure, they redeemed themselves in '06, and their live shows are better than ever, and even the greatest bands are allowed to have some shit albums... but I just don't know if they have enough to get in. Certainly not first-ballot slam dunks...

There's no way Pearl Jam won't end up in the R&R HOF. They may not be inducted their first year of eligibility, but they'll get in.
As for artists that are already eligible and haven't been inducted, I'd say "Weird Al" Yankovic is among those who have been overlooked. If Madonna and rap artists are in there, he certainly deserves the same recognition. He may not be a rock legend, but who hasn't heard any of his parodies?
Here's a site with lists of artists by the years they have become eligible:

Cheap Trick? Great band, but not sure about Hall Of Famers.
Alice Cooper, yes. Also, no Iron Maiden and no Def Leppard no Guns n' Roses - seems cock rock is being given unfair treatment!
