Well his voice is worn down. I think he should take a break for a while and give his voice a rest.

wonder how many people outside of this place say this about ed vedd?

How could he have sounded any better during this acoustic show? His voice couldn't hide behind distorted guitars or anything and it sounds amazing. Run, don't walk, to your nearest walk-in clinic and get your ears flushed. You are not hearing the same thing as everyone else, apparently.

just finished listening to this and...wow! This is the best thing I've heard from him since Soundgarden days! They need to only do acoustic shows from now on. What a great show.

His voice is very raspy, everyone else that I have played it for agrees with me too. He sings well, it's just that his voice isn't in the best shape - mostly when he screams or tries to hit any high notes.

i downloaded this show a month ago,
and i've probably heard it 100 times since.
i know people here are full of praise for SG an temple, as we all are and should be,
but the choice of covers is - in one word - incredible, and (i'm gonna get trampled on for this one...) the audioslave songs are nothing short of great. except for "original fire", which could have easily been replaced with "dandelion" (my personal 'slave favorite), or "i am the highway", or another 'slave song which could have done better. i mean - damn - "wide awake" is just so haunting... so much better stripped than on the album.
it's a shame he didn't play any solo material ("seasons" would have made this one of my most prized possessions), but in any case, a terrific show.
in my opinion - like the title of this thread implies - one of the great ones.

I have the one from the Wiltern..February 26, 2002 - Concert For Artist Rights

Ed's set: Monday Morning (with Beck and Mike Ness), Drifting, You've Got To Hide Your Love Away, Dead Man, Parting Ways, Can't Keep [new], You're True [new], I am Mine, Thumbing My Way [new], Broken Heart [new], Sleepless Nights (Beck joins Ed)
During Mike Ness set: Ed and Mike McCready join Mike Ness on Ball and Chain by Social Distortion
During Beck set: Ed joins Beck on Little Hands and Evil Things [new Beck song]

Now this was an incredible show..the Beck and Eddie Vedder duet on Evil Things was like a sing off..totally cool.

That set sounds amazing, especially the Eddie and Beck duet.Where did you come up with that?

Yeah, this is awesome. Saw Chris play at the Paramount in Seattle back in November of 1999 and it was a great show (very loud too). Nice to hear him acoustically.

I think AIC's Unplugged is better than the Chris Cornell one....

I wish Soundgarden would have done an Unplugged when they were in their prime.....would have been tremendous I'm sure.

I for one am glad there wasn't a Soundgarden unplugged for one reason: Kim Thayil. I much prefer Kim Thayil's droning, cut through your bone riffs and he is half of the reason why Cornell's solo version of "Like Suicide" is inferior to the 'Garden's.

As for this set, it is great for sure when he stays within his range. Apparently I'm in the minority when I say "Wide Awake" is great until the end of the song. His covers are terrific though, especially "Billie Jean;" one of the best covers I've heard of that song.
I share a cigarette with negativity.

great unplugged, and it´s not fair compare this unplugged with nirvana one, cornell did this unplugged as a solo artist, also has 41/42 years and still sing amazing, nirvana did it as a group in his peak career...

i missed some songs: sunshower, when i´m down, seasons, shadow of the sun, etx...
  • i cant seem to download wide awake...can anyone PM me and send it??
plaseee i want to have the wholee showww!!!
