  • Nine inch Nails is really good. Saw them at Lollapalooza for the first time.

The National is also pretty good.

  • Gogol Bordello. Like nothing I've ever seen before.

I love The National, but not live...saw them at the BAM in Brooklyn last winter and was a little dissapointed. His vocals aren't strong enough to carry a show, IMO.

    My Morning Jacket
    The Disco Biscuits
    Umphrey's McGee

My three favorite bands out currently.

Of older bands, Nine Inch Nails, Bruce Springsteen, Radiohead, Dave Matthews Band, Widespread Panic, the Black Crowes...
    Pittsburgh 6/23/06
    Madison Square Garden 6/25/08
  • Queens of the Stone Age (not touring now)
    Gutter Twins
    My Morning Jacket
    Drive By Truckers
    The Black Keys
  • no ones mentioned sigur ros yet... probably the best show of this year for me... and thats a year that included seeing nearly all the aforementioned in this thread... i think NIN and radiohead have kindof backed themselves into a corner when it comes to seeing them multiple times on the tour because of their extravagent light shows... of course its cool, but i feel neither mixed up their sets as much as usual and thats probably the main reason... its more like a vegas strip show thats perfected and repeated... saw em both twice and was disappointed the second times

oh... does it offend you yeah? puts on a great live show... obviously wilco... umm

    who else? drawing a blank...

to the OP's point... these are all pretty obvious choices gang! wheres the new shit??

whether your a fan of hip hop or not, the roots put on a hell of a show, with a few choice rock covers and such
  • My Morning Jacket
    Nine Inch Nails
    The Levellers
    Down
    Clutch
    Alanis Morissette

All f*cking dynamite live... especially MMJ.
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

There are literally hundreds of great bands worth seeing...it's just they are not all touring now. Been waiting over a year to see Interpol again :/!!!! Sigur Ros was great live by the way :)

The band to see in 09' if you haven't already is Mastodon. Their new album "Crack the Skye" is easily the album I'm most eager to get my hands on this year and I'm hoping they'll do a show (or two ;-) in my area cause I'd love to see them again soon. They're great live.
The last PJ show I went to was the best PJ show ever, that is until they come around again of course

MMJ a year or two ago was amazing. They played a lot off of "Z". I saw them recently on a 3 hour show... for me not as good, but I'm a casual fan. But man, that show years ago was breathtaking.

I cannot wait to see The Strokes again.

Ben Kweller was also a really cool and energetic rock show, but I think the new tour is supposed to be a country one, so I'll probably skip that.

Regina Spektor was awesome! Check out youtube of her at Lollapalooza.
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)
