she took the words right out of my mouth, those are all great live albums, but if you wanna here some great acoustic guitar work Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds have a live DVD coming out soon, and they have a CD already out called, "Live at Luther College"
my morning jacket - okonokos (one big holiday is worth the price of admission)
from my window to yours
Oh and completely agree. Dave + Tim Reynolds!! Definitely! You can't get any better than that.
AIC & Nirvana Unplugged definitely too. I mean whoever doesn't already own these has issues really.
I also have to mention...
Live ~ Alice In Chains

was gonna recommend the same...can't wait for radio city to come out.....:)...the doors live at the hollywood bowl.....foo fighters skin and bones...:)
CHRIS CORNELL UNPLUGGED! its a bootleg but its amazing! You'd probobly have to download it, oh yea Phish has alot of great live stuff!
But I recommend "Rock of Ages" by the Band. It's really the last great thing they did (except The Last Waltz) before they started going downhill.
Wilco- Kicking Television (by far one of the best live albums ever recorded)
Midnight Oil- Scream in Blue
Nirvana- Unplugged in NY
Pearl Jam- Live on Two Legs
Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band- Hammersmith Odeon, London '75
The Tragically Hip- Live Between Us (the perfect road trip album)
Ben Harper- Live From Mars
-Tom Waits
just started geting into Wilco and I never knew they had a live album!
Bob Dylan and the Band-Before the flood ( some of one, some of the other and some of both together)
Joni Mitchell-Miles of Aisles (very tastefull)
Grateful Dead-Europe 72 ( Bozo Bus)
David Bowie-Live with the Spiders from Mars
1998 Seattle 7-21
2000 Seattle 11-06
2003 Seattle Benaroya 10-22
2005 Gorge 9-1
2006 Gorge 7-23
thats about all i can add to what's already been said.
the drive by truckers should make a live album they are great live.
Knowledge is not wisdom.
Wisdom is not truth.
Truth is not beauty.
Beauty is not love.
Love is not music.
Music is the best.
~Frank Zappa
Foo Fighters - Skin and Bones
My Morning Jacket - Okonokos
If you like DMB at all, get Live Trax 3 or Live Trax 8. Probably two of their best releases. Not available in retail stores, but can DL through their site.
just got lt 9......excellent.....'course i was there on saturday...:p:D
All I have is jealousy and envy.....and a little hate (jk).
I'm waiting for my lt9....hopefully tomorrow.
Tragically Hip - Live Between Us
the bad idea or me befallen by it?
Damn right. Hendrix has lots of great live albums. I also highly recommend Live at Fillmore East - which is the rest of the 2 shows from Which Band of Gypsys was taken, Live at Woodstock (a little sloppy, but tons of energy), Live at the Oakland Coliseum (only available through the official website - it's a good quality audience recording), and Live at Berkely.
Aside from Hendrix, I'm surprised nobody has listed Allman Brothers - Live at Fillmore East.
I would also recommend Funkadelic Live at Meadowbrook. It's the only live recording of early Funkadelic with Eddie Hazel on guitar I'm aware of. It was their first show with a new drummer, and he screws up a lot, but it's worth hearing for Eddie Hazel's guitar work.
RHCP live at Hyde Park is great, although the Live at Slane DVD is probably a little bit better.
Rory Gallagher's Irish Tour 74 is also great if you like blues rock.
Praxis features Bill Laswell, Brain, Buckethead amongst others. This live album is really good.
Tim Buckley - Honeyman
also, jimi hendrix live at winterland.....:)
Live in Europe Rory gallagher
Live and Dangerous Thin Lizzy
Live at Leeds The Who
Get Live at Leeds by John Martyn. (You could get The Who's Live at Leeds, too, but I'd get John Martyn's Live at Leeds without fail.)
Get It's Too Late To Stop Now by Van Morrison.
Get Dream Letter: Live in London 1968 by Tim Buckley.
Get Jazz at Massey Hall.
They'll do, for starters.
