And I just saw another promo for PJ tix on tv just now.
Love seeing those commercials because it means shows are coming soon.
are these generic rock ticket promos, or any cool logos and shit?
Or is this like, generic pictures of a venue with,
"Live ... in concert ... Peeeeeaaaaaarrrrrrl Jaaaaaaaammmmmmm. Here all your favorite song, as the epic band takes you on a journey through over a decade of hits."
with the "Sunday sunday sunday!" voice?
If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?

Well, the promo started with "Coming back to the Philadelphia area, the band that has evolved for over 15 years - Pearl Jam!" and then more generic speak about them while snippets of Alive, Evenflow, Jeremy, Corduroy, Daughter, Given to Fly and WWS played in the background.

I'm with Speedy....we just drove the fuck back to Chicago very fast that night (well, we made it to W.Lafayette).
Add to the fact that the 2003 show was canceled AND what happened with the Who at the same venue, expectations were that something out of the ordinary was going to happen. Plus, the crowd energy was great. But as Speedy mentions above, none of the above was played.

thats exactly what i was talking about. lol.
4got to mention the snipets of all the radio songs.

i think his problem with it was the same as mine ... basically - people (myself included) overhyped the show. We thought it would "special" due to all of the surrounding circumstances (cancellation of the '00 Cincy show, venue was the site of the Who tragedy years before, etc.).
And the show disappointed from that point of view. it wasn't a bad show, it was jsut average. And many people expected it to be an epic show.
On top of that, there was the disappointment of the 3rd encore that was supposed to happen but never did because people started to leave the building. So the band called it off. We knew Indifference was supposed to be played in the 3rd encore - not sure if there was anything else though ...
That basically sums it up.
reminds me of KC 2003. VERY short setlist. pretty magical moment with lighting flashing when ed sang "oh dear dad can you see me now?".....rain rain rain rain...
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
songs that were being played during that tour.....that hadnt been played in a gazillion years...or that are just rarities...

green disease.......
But the energy of that show was terrific! And Robert Pollard was one of, if not the, best opening acts for Pearl Jam.
The setlist could have had some more rarities but people put way too much empahsis on them. If you are at the point where only rare songs make you happy, you might want to start listening to another band.

The setlist was "disappointing" compared to the hype, but man, what a great time before & after the show!
I concur.
I wish I could have taken part in the after-party.

i am taking a stab without reading this.
They skipped cincy on riot act, and they didnt really do anything extra special except shit on a magazine.
They didn't 'skip' Cincy on the RA tour
