It is one of the top 10 coolest fucking songs ever. It fuckin rocks.
All that's sacred, comes from youth....dedications, naive and true.

I think Rick Rubin had something to do with it. Probably introduced him to some new stuff. Or maybe he was just that hip of a guy. Also, there is this:

Rowboat is my favorite Cash cover.

Why was this posted in the Porch?
  • im not sure why johnny cash did so many covers, but it seems like he did a lot of them near the end of his life. I dont know why he did, but i liked hearing his take on alot of songs, including rusty cage.

  • Lots of old country, rockabilly, rock acts from back then did covers, thats the way it was. Cash also wrote some just beautiful and amazing songs. At least when he did a cover it was from the heart, unlike a lot of acts these days who are out to sell records. Rubin from what I've read did present the song to Cash, who at first wasn't for it, but really took it to heart after giving it a shot.

what cd is that off of...never heard it.
He is alive but feels absolutely nothing.
    So is he?
When he was six he believed that the moon overhead followed him.
By nine he had deciphered the illusion trading magic for fact.
    No tradebacks...
So this is what it's like to be an adult
If he only knew now what he knew then...
