Nah.
The Nightwatchman has been playing forever and it sounds like RATM will be (if true) getting together for one show.
AS is too good (maybe musically, but definetly in terms of band relations) to break up now.Come on pilgrim you know he loves you..

ditto to that.0 -
his voice did deteriorate but lately hes not smoking or drinking which has helped the tone..plus audioslave toured constantly which would be harsh on any singer-which i think is more of a reason for a rest this time around
if you want to get all technical about it the upper part of his range is undeniably fucked BUT if you listen to his latter singing, he seems to get around this problem by different ways of singing. eg, more harmonising which he didnt do that much b4. check out the recent sweden unplugged..
to all those hoping for a soundgarden reunion-why? they were a great band for 12 years and much as i would love to see them live, it wouldnt be sg in their heyday byt sg being quite embarrassing..think about it, a band who doesnt play for 12 years playing live with no new material. thats gonna be great..
and as for ratm-that was one of the most acrimonious band break ups in recent memory. so im skeptical of a reunion to be honest.
if chris is doing his solo stuff, why wldnt tom do nightwatchmen stuff? what else is he going to do?0 -

I don't think that's in the cards.0 -
With Chris Cornell and Tom Morello, both of them about to release solo works, the end of audioslave is very close....can´t wear my mask, your first my last...0

Dude, where do you live? I'll bring a 12er...
Never got a chance to see Soundgarden live before they broke up, so if they got back together, I'd be stoked motherfucker.."On the edge of a know-nothin' town, Feelin' quite superior in Den Haag"

I agree with this... anyone who thinks Chris could sing even half of Soundgarden's library anymore is insane. Not to mention that having Mr. Happy himself belting out depressing Soundgarden numbers would take all the emotion out of the songs.
Look at Ed singing songs like Why Go or Deep in the past couple of years. It would be like that, except amplified 10x.
What I'm trying to say is, this isn't the "Slaves and Bulldozers" or "4th of July" Chris Cornell anymore. It's the "Dandelion" and "Heaven's Dead" Cornell. The passion and inspiration for his old music is gone. It only lives in the songs themselves. It's a town full of losers and I'm pulling out of here to win0 -

Audioslave is a very good band. Way better then most of the bullshit out there today. Also Cornell could pull off the old Soundgarden songs. I love how people talk about his voice, and how it isnt what it used to be. Let me tell ya folks one of the best sounding voices i ever heard. Yes even on the new Audioslave cd.0

I think Chris and Tom having solo records amounts to the end for Audioslave as much as Stone Gossard, Three Fish, Mad Season, The Rockfords, Wellwater Conspiracy and Brad amounted to the end for Pearl Jam.:rolleyes:Can not be arsed with life no more.0

Hey I'll defend Cornell to the last word, but his range is not what it was in the early - mid 90's, yes he still sounds incredible, but the range is not there for a lot of the Soundgarden songs.0 -
i'm also one of those who couldn't care less for audioslave, but i'm a very big fan of chris pre audioslave.
wish he would hang up his boots in audioslave and go solo, or just find another band totally where he could really summon his talents and inspireAthens, Greece: 2006/09/30

Hell its not about the range in his voice. Its about reuniting the most badass band in history. In fact I'd be happy to just see some guest appearances on Chris' solo album especially from the mighty Kim.
*bows in respect*
Any way Soundgarden always had that ability to be greater then the sum of its parts even as talented as they all were.0 -

I would say Soundgarden had one of the best guitarist, drummers, and the best rock vocalist during the 90s.I share a cigarette with negativity.0 -

Have you even heard Soundgarden?! If you don't think Cornell's high-end 'wailing' was an integral part of their sound, you are quite frankly deaf! Like I've said before, there are probably a good few songs he could still do, BUT stuff like Jesus Christ Pose, Beyond the wheel, Hands all over, Superunknown etc would be a real no-no.0 -
The price of admission to a Soundgarden reunion show would be worth it if all they played was Big Dumb Sex.I share a cigarette with negativity.0
