    smile like you mean it
  • you asked for "my thoughts" so you can't complain

my thought that is as long as the killers, or whoever they are paying to write the stuff, keep making "music", the suicide rates will double, terror levels will sky rocket and the planet will slowly begin to smell like shit.
    Not to mention soot.
  • I like the new single and loved Hot Fuss...
I really like the song Uncle Jonny from the new album..

Uncle Jonny is one of my favouites too along with Bling (confession of a king) and Bones.

I hate to admit it also but I do like them and am embarrased to say to people I love their new song. It sounds like a Bruce Springsteen song.
I'm just flying around the other side of the world to say I love you

Sha la la la i'm in love with a jersey girl

I love you forever and forever :)

  • have not heard the song.

about 3 rolling stones ago there was a small blurb about them cranking it up a notch and going for arena rock and less new wave. it interested me a lot.

if they start playing arenas and have only two albums out, one new wavish and one more straight rock, how will the setlists go over live??? hmmmm..

i am anxiously awaiting this album. didnt like the whole last one , but there were definately some very good songs on it. none as good as anything every made by PJ but still good for a non PJ band. (there are so many of them)

why does everyone compare any band in this forum to pearl jam, as if pearl jam is some untouchable holy grail? just an observation.....haven't heard their new album yet btw.
    The wind is blowing cold
Have we lost our way tonight?
Have we lost our hope to sorrow?

    Feels like were all alone
    Running further from what’s right
And there are no more heroes to follow

    So what are we becoming?
    Where did we go wrong?
  • Haven't heard new album BUT hot fuss is great, powerfull! It was something new then, regarding music type.

After just one listen I would say I like Hot Fuss more than Sam's Town. They've definitely gone for more of a mainstream sound. The singer has changed the pitch and singing style a bit for this one. At times he sounds like Robert Smith. Rolling Stone seemed to be obsessed that this sounds like a Springsteen rip-off album, but I don't see that. Maybe closer to Queen. There are a few lyrics that could have been written by Springsteen, but the music sounds nothing like. I need to listen to it a few more times to give a more thorough review.

Yeah that one is really good as well...but I've been listening to Uncle Jonny non-stop lately..friggin sweet...

my husband got sam's town today...and i've been listening to it non-stop. i am really liking it! nice to find new bands i enjoy, b/c there really aren't too many. no, i don't find them ground-breaking, but i don't need all my bands to be ground-breaking...being good at what you do, that works too. :)
    Stay with me...

    I like the Killers.

I actually discovered them through my friend's nephew who plays in the band "The Red Romance" who have been the opening band for the Killers.

Check them out, too. I think they're pretty good.

I think that Flowers sounds like Bono in a few songs of Sam's town. I like it. I think that the album is good because the songs fit one to an another but aren't to similliar. I also read the r.s. review and I haven't see the Springsteem stuff they mention. Think that the man who has written it don't like them and wanted to find a reason. I'm no musician so I'm not able to make a great review but I like music and what I can say is that I really like Sam's town...
Beavis : Is this Pearl Jam?
Butt-head: This guy makes faces like Eddie Vedder.
Beavis: No, Eddie Vedder makes faces like this guy.
Butt-head: I heard these guys, like, came first and Pearl Jam ripped them off.
Beavis: No, Pearl Jam came first.
    Butt-head: Well, they both suck.

I don't hear the BOSS interpretations either. Amazon customer ratings are 4/5 so good to see a majority are really enjoying the new album.

For Reasons Unknown is still my favorite.
