Just downloaded the new song, "When You Were Young" and I like it a lot. They are supposed to be around the states in November and think they will be selling out arenas/amps by the summer.

What are your thoughts??

Also, anyone else notice a couple of the guitar parts are very similar to U2's Miracle Drug?

    have not heard the song.

about 3 rolling stones ago there was a small blurb about them cranking it up a notch and going for arena rock and less new wave. it interested me a lot.

if they start playing arenas and have only two albums out, one new wavish and one more straight rock, how will the setlists go over live??? hmmmm..

i am anxiously awaiting this album. didnt like the whole last one , but there were definately some very good songs on it. none as good as anything every made by PJ but still good for a non PJ band. (there are so many of them)

I think the Killers are pretty good. The new song I heard on the radio...not sure if it's the same one as what you mentioned, was horrible! Ugh, it was bad.
That being said, I'm hoping the rest of the album is better.
  • I'm digging the new song, they're a band that I'm kinda embarrassed to admit I like, but they've got some good cuts on thier first album.
  • i don't like when you were young at all but hot fuss was great.

I couldn't agree with u more. The Dj on live 105 said "i hope the album is a lot different, because that was a lame track by the KIllers"...
  • i dont like anything this band puts out.
    Stone Gossard...riffmeister extraordinaire!

i saw them back in sept 05.

they were good, recreated their sound well enough in a live setting, only the set was way too short.

perhaps with a new album it will increase the catalogue and showtimes.

I like the new song a lot. It's a departure from Hot Fuss, which I also love; every track.

"When You Were Young" is like old, despondent "Dark Side of Town" Bruce Springsteen with keyboards. It's got a sad vibe and some decent swells.

    Cool...

the new song is so bad.

i saw them live last year and thought it was okay- the problems were it only lasted an hour and not too exciting.

i guess thats because im not a big fan of their music- some people at the concert were going nuts.

    I love the new song.

I loved about 6-7 songs from Hot Fuss. IN Fact I think I posted here about a year ago that I though be the best band to come along in a long time.

Woo hoo! The new album is finally in stores. I have been listening to it the past couple days and love it!

'For Reasons Unknown' has to be the next single- catchy as hell!

  • you asked for "my thoughts" so you can't complain

my thought that is as long as the killers, or whoever they are paying to write the stuff, keep making "music", the suicide rates will double, terror levels will sky rocket and the planet will slowly begin to smell like shit.

I hate to admit it also but I do like them and am embarrased to say to people I love their new song. It sounds like a Bruce Springsteen song.

why does everyone compare any band in this forum to pearl jam, as if pearl jam is some untouchable holy grail? just an observation.....haven't heard their new album yet btw.
