mine would be echoes. it's epic, and it's their first song to really shift them into the limelight. not only that, it's just a damn good song. so complex, so many parts, and beautiful.

a little syd barrett era, eh?

great song, just not too much of a fan of the psychadelic early pink floyd.

SO many songs that I LOVE from Pink Floyd...ALL different eras of this band, I but if it would have to be one, I would pick Wish You Were Here. it is just a powerful song overall and it has always struck a chord with me ever since I first heard the song. :)

It gives me chills everytime I hear David start playing the acoustic solo in that song. beautiful!

I only like Syd-era. The rest is bland muzak, for me.

Echoes is my favorite by far. Love the Pompeii version.

floyd is probably my favorite band. They are great live - the vocals take some getting used to but they still rule.

pigs - live from montreal last animals show.... fantastic

Very difficult to pick just one.....for me I enjoyed how the band evolved over the years well a least until the Wall

But to answer the original question it would have to be Interstellar Overdrive or One of These Days...

"Time", I heard it when I was 16, nd have lived my whole life by that ethos of not sitting around waiting for stuff to happen, but getting out and making your life happen.
I read an interesting interview with Waters where he talks about how he wrote it when he was 28 and "waiting for life to begin", then realised that it had begun a long time ago. That song has driven my whole life !!

i'd have to go with brain damage/eclipse followed very closely with set the controls.... and breathe. it's so damn hard to choose.
