    Give the girl a break.
Where were all of you when a certain member of a certain band that we all love was dependent on booze and drugs???? Were you all sitting on your high horses then?

Back To Black is a solid album. Though I haven't listen to it in awhile, probably b/c I prefer those moody albums in the fall/winter.
Her debut was alright. Let's hope she'll be able to make a third album. :p

Good to see Amy getting support here and some positive vibes!

Too much slaggong off on this board.

she's a great singer and the type of music she does is great -- retro, 60s girl group music. Anyone saying she is shit doesn't like the type of music anyways and is ignorant. She does what she does well and is extremely talented. A complete trainwreck, but talented.

any woman who dances like Muhammed Ali attempting a tightrope walk isnt for me... add in the fact that she looks like she fell into her make up... and she can just fuck off.

I dont mind some of the tunes though... but watching her live is just too much... her and Pete Doherty should enter some kind of pact together...

I know it's not (entirely) her fault but the constant mentions by the media of her music and/or her ridiculous junkie adventures is really tiring. If you don't like her music then it definitely becomes irritating to a point where you just end up slagging her of when she is mentionned. Enough with amy already, the media should just get back to us when she comes up with something more relevant than doing crack.
Oh and I disagree with what someone said, if she goes on like she does chances are her carreer will die before her.

She has one of the best voices ive ever heard but she is wasting it. I dont mind her music, think a lot of people who say stuff like she is talentless, which is ridiculous to be honest, (anyone with half a brain can tell from listening to her that she has lots of talent in her voice even if they dont like it) are more affected by her negative portrayal in the media. Ill bet a lot of her critics would say she was a good singer if they didnt know her details.
People say im paranoid. Well, they dont say it, but i know that's what they are thinking.

    She really is.....

Overated and passionless drivel, I do not see the attraction with this woman at all.....

    She's pretty abysmal live too.....
Hope that made you feel better. Kind of like a good laxative.

I dig Amy and her talant. She's gifted far beyond a Rhianna, a Pussycat Doll, a Janet Jackson,..the list goes on and on.

Hate to see such talent wasted, the drama and the taking of life for granted.

I dont like to see life and talent wasted. She is talented, of course. I sorry for her and she has my best wishes.
But i dont believe when I read things like this "Doctors are worried Amy’s brain was damaged by the cannabis overdose"....Cannabis overdose? What hell is this? I´ve never known one people who had cannabis overdose...may be if one packet of pot fall in head. She take more drugs than this, please.
  • there is no need to be calm about this. you have heard her voice, i dont want to see amy being thrown to the dogs.

slagging amy winehouse off right now is totally uncalled for, whether you like the music or not. or if you think you're being funny.

she is not being helped by any of this shit. what happens to a great people when the thing that makes them great becomes the smallest part of their identity???

like some of you said, look at layne.

at least give amy a chance to get clean without all this bullshit to deal with as well, like finsburyparkcarrots said, she seems to be healthier of late...

Well, in my view she looks a hell of a lot better in the flesh than in many of those media photos (which have to be photoshopped). Mind you, I'm surprised her brain doesn't cave in under the weight of that fookin' beehive!

she doesnt help herself so why should we?

i feel sorry for her family...

if my daughter went out and married that jailed fuckwit then i'd understand her descent into drug hell

The very nature of addiction generally precludes helping oneself easily Dunk :) One's mind and body is generally geared towards getting more drugs.

Seeing as this is a message board, a place to air views on music, I have to say that yes it did make me feel better.....

My dislike of her has nothing to do with her addiction but more her substandard music.....

You can name female artists worse than her, well done, I can name many who are far superior - Joanna Newsom, Regina Spektor, Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon, Tori Amos, PJ Harvey, Gillian Welch, Eliza Carthy - my list could go on too.....

Now there's a name you don't often see on this board.

Regina Spektor is pretty much shite.

I am on the fence with Newsom. Wonderful lyrics and harp playing, her voice sounds like an elf on meth.

Seriously though, I'd take Newsom over Winehouse any day.....
