Truly a sad moment when I heard the news yesterday :(

All of my close friends know that "Us and Them" is to played at my funeral. Now I'll have to play it for Richard, damn I'm seriously upset over this.

    Rest in Peace Mr. Wright.
If you have a chance to make life better for others, and fail to do so, you are wasting your time on this earth.

    Roberto Clemente.
  • A real shock, Floyd are my favourite band and saw them in 94 at Earl's Court.

I suppose this explains Gillmour's admission that there wouldbe no more Floyd tours or albums, he must have known it was coming.

I don't want to see no embarassing Who like venture, continuing with Entwistle was ridiculous.

We should savour Live 8 and be glad that happened and that Rick got a chance to play with David on the OAI tour.

    Deeply missed

    RIP Richard Wright

Enjoy your Great Gig in the Sky. Rick!

Good call, I forgot one of his best - Could easily be on a top ten of floyd for me

    Summer of 68

Would you like to say something before you leave
Perhaps you'd care to state exactly how you feel
We said goodbye before we've said hello
I hardly even like you, I shouldn't care at all
We met just six hours ago, the music was too loud
From your bed I gained a day and lost a bloody year
And I would like to know

How do you feel? How do you feel, how?
How do you feel? How do you feel, how?

Not a single word was said, the night still hid our fears
Occasionally you showed a smile but what was the need
I felt the cold far too soon in a room of ninety-five
My friends are lying in the sun, I wish that I was there
Tomorrow brings another town, another girl like you
Have you time before you leave to greet another man
    Just you let me know

How do you feel? How do you feel, how?
How do you feel? How do you feel, how?

    Goodbye to you...

One last thing - the piano part on either the 1st or 2nd song ummagumma is one of the best moments on and of the bands releases, beyond words

I pledge to you a government that will not only work well, but wisely, its ability to act tempered by prudence, and its willingness to do good, balanced by the knowledge that government is never more dangerous than when our desire to have it help us blinds us to its great power to harm us.

first concert i ever saw was Pink Floyd performing The Wall at Earls Court in 1981 (errrr... just having one of those 'senior' moments, was it '80, or '81'... either way, it was the second time at Earls Court so i think '81 :o )... fecking fantastic...! saw them a few times after that, but nothing could match that 'my first concert' moment...

very sad that he's gone... he contributed so much to the great Floyd catalogue...
Oh yeah? Well, I've had about enough of morons and halfwits, dolts, dunces, dullards and dumbbells - and you chowderhead yokel, you blithering hayseed, you - you've had enough of me?

R.I.P. Richard. A genius of major proportions. I've been listening to a great deal of The Floyd. Piper At The Gates Of Dawn and Saucerful of Secrets interspersed with Wish You Were Here. Sadly, it's not only Syd who'll immediately come to mind when WYWH is played.

I've been listening to Pink Floyd a lot lately.

I can easily say they are one of the greatest band of all-time, maybe even THE Greatest Ever.

Us And Them is a beautiful masterpiece.
