I can't reach for the channel button fast enough when Billy Joel comes on the radio.
My dad used to say "Billy Joel is not rock n roll!" I guess I take after him (actually I know I take after him)! Though I do really like one song: Vienna. He had a pretty interesting 'everybody likes but I don't' list himself, including Bruce Springsteen and AC/DC.

Linkin Park and Coldplay easily. Growing up with friends that adore both bands, I heard them a lot, but I was never really impressed. Although Coldplay is a little more bearable for me. Willie Nelson did a cover of their song, The Scientist, and I love that though
Gaslight Anthem...and anyone who says they like them are lying to themselves. Their tunes are forgetful, the singer is below mediocre, and if it wasn't for the lose relation to Pearl Jam, no one on here would even be talking about them. Just crap.

Uh, who the fuck is Gaslight Anthem? Seriously, I've never heard of them.
Nickleback, Coldplay, Iron Maiden are all unlistenable..
Anyone that said Nirvana or Sleater-Kinney are wrong, two fantastic bands..
Come on, man. There is no wrong or right when it comes to personal taste but rather differences of opinion. You may feel like Nirvana was a fantastic band but for me they fucking sucked balls. This whole thread is all about personal taste.

Fair call, of course I agree with you, there is no right or wrong, just went fishing and caught a bite... But I just can't see how anyone can't like Nirvana, have you even heard 'aneurysm' up really fucking loud?! Thrilling music..

Nirvana always has and always will sound like a group of talentless hacks who would know real music if it smacked them repeatedly around the head. There is nothing thrilling about having to endure that Nickleback level shit if you have no control over what is on a sound system or running for remote to get it off before your ears start to bleed. They suck, so hard. Does that clear it up for you?
Anything you lose from being honest You never really had to begin with.
Sometimes it's not the song that makes you emotional it's the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it.

Ha! Tell me how you really feel.. Putting Nirvana and Nickleback at the same level is insanity. Ok, so which band is so talented and deserves your attention, safe option, Pearl Jam??
Coldplay Xwhatever is past a cabillion Pink Floyd Led Z %99 Percent of the Stones songs - I only like Ruby Tuesday and Paint it Black. Beatles Lenny Kravitz Xwhatever is past a cabillion

besides all the noise that they get pigeon holed into, listen to some of their softer tracks. they are beatle-esque in melody and structure. he was a massive beatles fan and it showed. he had an incredible sense of melody when you strip back the scream. if he wrote all his songs on acoustic, he'd be known as more of a songwriter than a music scene starter.
