I've already done a post like this but these are my final and official albums. Starting from my favorite... I judged based on quality, sound, influence and "catchiness" that captures my OWN attention and that has influenced me to be what I enjoy in music today.... it's all about me and for me... there were so many bands that I really love but these are the ones that really stood out for me. Albums that I will live with my entire life... so here they are. I also judged the albums at how consistently good their songs were.... i can't stand albums that only have 3 or 4 good songs. and i found out about myself that i really enjoy melodious music... in fact, almost all my favorite albums have a melow sound to it... except of course a few

Cafe Tacuba - Cuatro Caminos
My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
The Mars Volta - Deloused in the Comatorium
The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots
Doves - The Last Broadcast
Yo La Tengo - I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One
Starflyer 59 - Gold
Slowdive - Souvlaki
Radiohead - Kid A
Interpol - Turn On the Bright Lights

ok.... now you think really reallly realllllyyyyy hard and post your own.

ok, well, i hope so... cause people can sometimes be pricks for no reason... i had other bands that i wanted to include on there... like pearl jam, bob dylan, george harrison, broken social scene, nirvana's bleach (yes, i like this album better from all of theirs) black rebel motorcycle club, pink floyd, the doors and led zeppelin.... i guess these are for the next top ten... ;)

the thing about radiohead... i guess i'm different from most but i personally like what they did in kid a... it has such a dreamy sound and very hypnotic... i love music like that. i wish they pulled off another album like it... well, they kinda did with amnesiac but not as affective. i do love ok computer though... my favorite i think is the tourist...or let down... or paranoid android. i dunno  and also yoshimi has the same dreamy, futuristic sound... unlike soft bulletin or at war with the mystics... i've argued with myself trying to figure what my favorite is and i agreed that it was yoshimi because of that distinct dreamy sound.

fair enough. i think i even prefer amnesiac to kid a. and don't get me wrong i love kid a......says a lot about how much i adore amnesiac and ok computer.
i love yoshimi, but the soft bulletin just grabs be by the short and curly

but, bottom line.....pearl jam rules my melodic universe without interference

also... i recommend you getting a copy of cuatro caminos by cafe tacuba... just give it a listen... it's spanish but listen to it a few times. the first times listening to it are the best times... and i envy everyone who hasn't heard it. it's a really great underrated album... it actually was ahead of radiohead's hail to the thief back in 2003 as the best albums of the year in blender magazine. once you listen to it... you might not get into it... just like me... you'll probably ignore it... but listen to it about 2 or 3x... then after that... while you're not listening to it the sounds will still be roaming in your head. that's exactly what happened to me and by the time you know it you'll wanna hear it over and over and over and over... not unless you really hate it, then that's understandable...

take it from me a pearl jam fan who loves great music ;)
