the last 2 years i have had a massive hatred for the second place getters, last year was Ben Lee, this year Eskimoe Joe. i'm so glad they didn't get #1

most of my picks for the top 10 made top 20, so i didn't do to bad in picking them, but the bands i actually voted for didn't do to well, the highest i got was 12, and 3 of the songs i voted didn't even make it.
    condescending and sarcastic since 1980

so what is the acceptable level of lily allen?

perhaps as an englishman you are too close so you don't(or don't want to) appreciate her dry wit as much as we aussies do. or maybe as a guy, you find 'smile' offensive. i imagine she'd be totally lost on the americans.

I was disappointed that there wasn't more PJ in the countdown. And particularly given what was, felt it was a bit of a let down. Don't really understand how some songs ended up as high up as they did. I don't think it can be because of their popularity, more to do with multiple voting. Yeah, most of the songs I picked were in it. Although I would have liked less "commercial" songs to make it to the top. :)

you can't really multiple vote unless you have multiple email addresses.
i am not surprised by the lack of pj. they never struck me as a band that gets a lot of ariplay on the Js. oh sure the songs get played but so do a thousands of other songs.
i was thrilled that the grates represented so much. there was as much arctic monkeys as i expected.
and how do the killers have so many fans?

Oh I appreciate and get her wit, just not my type of music, pop music just does'nt do nothing for me even if she is singing about stuff more valid than ho'es, money and excess.

Yeah somewhere round there, I could see myself trying to get into Springsteen's music though at some point.

Maybe it's just the demographic then? :)
PJ used to get a lot of airplay on JJJ back in the 90's but since MMM have taken over "Presenting PJ to Australia" the Js have stopped playing them.
Ever since the appalling "Last Kiss" fiasco.

Oh cate, I know I only heard most of this stuff this afternoon but I'm struggling to remember who sang what! I know bugger all about the grates, the arctic monkeys or the killers. Sorry.
