lyd hon, wasn't that a Tom quote???? :)......nonetheless, no break up..these guys are enjoying the process together too much according to recent interviews........just no sense in touring before the album is released....(THIS TIME!!!) cos they DID start the tour last year prior to the release.......it's all business......it's unfortunate for any fans that already bought tix for those festivals JUST to see Audioslave.....

shit happens.........it'll all work out in the end.....

Someone is probably going into rehab...That or they finally realized how awful their music is and don't want to embarass themselves any further.

yep thats it...........haha your in the right track man, I think you know what your talking about.

I dont think they are breaking up anytime soon. They will be together for a long time and I cant wait to hear their new disk. Should be awesome..............as was their last two albums! I still like their first one the best but I like the idea of Audioslave doing a little funk. Thats cool. Tom said it was a mix of "Earth wind and Fire and Led Zeppelin". Sounds good to me.

  • ya, they def said that they are gonna try and realease an album every year.

    good shit.

dont think they will top their debut though. out of exile was good with some of their best songs (be yourself, doesnt remind me, out of exile, dandelion) but overall their debut was much stronger and harder hitting. hope i can expect much the same from revelations.

Personally I love the band and Cornell. At one time I never thought I'd hear Cornell really belt it out again. They were awesome at acc last year in Toronto. Love the first Rage cd and never heard it all until Audioslave. For that alone, I'm thankful.

I can't see them breaking up yet but am surprised they've got a new album only 1 year after "Out of Exile"...

Yeah when I saw them last September Chris was talking about the new album and even played one of the new tracks off it. He was joking about the record label was going to be pissed.

  • my fingers are crossed, i hope to God they break up. if they break up, the rage guys can go do whatever they do down in socal and chris can hopefully spark a soundgarden reunion, write some solo stuff, anything but making the god awful noise known as audioslave.

yeah dude, i am totally for real. audioslave is horrible. EVERY SINGLE SONG have the SAME EXACT PATTERN and TEMPO, they are like a watered down AC/DC. Cornell's voice is shot and Morello couldn't write a decent song if his life was on the line.

so Cochise has the same EXACT pattern as and tempo as Like a stone, Shadow on the sun, the curse, Doesn't remind me, Be yourself, Gasoline......um fair enough if you don't like them, each to their own, but the point you make is utter bollocks, unless you don't know what the words 'tempo' and 'pattern' mean.

Audioslave is pretty good, but it's a little bit of a guilty pleasure for me. I have both albums (the first is infinitely better than Out of Exile), and even though I don't like it that much, I always seem to go back to it. I guess that means it's pretty good?

Doesn't Remind Me is fantastic. Gasoline is great, too.

He doesn't sound as good as he used to, but his voice is getting better.

I remember when I first popped in their debut when it came out and I heard Cochise, I thought Cornell was done for.

Soundgarden will never reunite, because of the way they split.
If you don't like Audioslave then don't listen to them although I appreciate you are allowed your opinion ;)

he is in his 40s now and hes been screaming like a metal singer for years...his voice wasnt gonna be perfect forever, especially when substance abuse was involved

anyway, apparently theyre releasing the first single from their new album, the songs called "Original Fire", on July 17
I've faced it, a life wasted, and I'm never going back again.

  • I would rather hear new Audioslave than the vast majority of rock that is out there right now. Soundgarden and Rage were great bands but they are both history. I would at least be happy with the fact that Chris and the guys are still making music.
