Love the early eps & album, but I've been hooked on the new one since it came out.
definately! return to cookie mountain is one of my favorite albums at this moment. great great album.
arcade fire is also great. the funeral is a stunning debut. a must have

"Call me Ishmael. Some years ago- never mind how long precisely- having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me on shore, I thought I would sail about a little and see the watery part of the world." Herman Melville : Moby Dick
have you heard the new clap your hands say yeah album? is it any good?
return to cookie mountain is AMAZING. im gonna see tv on the radio in march and im stoked.
im also going to see the decemberists, whose latest album i also love.
and i second all the people who mentioned hold steady... they're great.
i just bought the new clap your hands cd...and we got it in at work...and i LOVE it!! their song "satan said dance" is really fun...makes me wanna dance so i do! all around work...customers think i'm crazy
let me know how tv on the radio is. i saw them a couple years ago w/ the faint, but the sound was crappy and kept cutting out. i can't wait to see them again in april!! i'll also be seeing the decemberists the day before.
2007 had been deemed the year of the concerts/shows for me...i love it!!
yes...i do feel like a human. i do not feel like a tree.

same here, ive got so many lined up this spring. now if i can only talk my gf into seeing hold steady with me, my coup will be complete!
i may check out that clap your hands album... i like the first one a lot.
I need to check it out too. I just have too much music to listen to. I haven't even put a dent in the new stuff I have.
Menomena is a great band you should all check out. Their new album gives me goosebumps.
Also try: Midlake - The Trials of Van Occupanther
Midlake:
Their new record is amazing. I think they have another record, but they're new to me. My vote would be for them.
The National:
These guys have been putting out records for 5 or 6 years, but once again farily new to me (started listening about a year ago). These guys are one of the best bands out there, period. Too bad they don't tour enough.
What is the album selling limit for a band to lose the "indie" label? If Arcade Fire sell a million album on Merge records, can they still be called Indie? Anyway i love these new bands:
Arcade Fire
The Dears
Tv On The Radio
New Pornographers
...many more.
"L'homme est né libre, et partout il est dans les fers"
-Jean-Jacques Rousseau
Check out The View (http://www.theviewareonfire.com)
They are a kick ass Brtish band in the vein of Artic Monkeys/Libertines
Also check out The Forms (http://www.threespheres.com)
They are Brooklyn boys who play emo/indie in the traditional style of Sunny Day Real Estate and Slint, not the current shit that passes for emo these days
"Stunned by my own reflection, It's looking back, sees me too clearly and I swore I'd never go there again, Not unlike a friend that politely drags you down, down, down"
When you see me on the street, yell out "FAVO!!!"
I've been to alot of Pearl Jam shows; So fucking what.
The View's album is my favourite of the year so far definitley, love the whole thing. Wasted little dj's a great song, and the video's cool too. Pretty mad to think these guys are still in their teens.
Absolutely, I saw their first U.S show at a 200 person club(Mercury Lounge Jan 2) They seemed a bit nervous, but still delivered the goods. They are coming back to NYC in about 3 weeks, and playing with The Young Knives, another good band.

Not bad at all. seen them open for Hayden.. and at broken city!
I'd go with Ten Kens.. they are from Toronto and pretty damn awesome.. a mix of early 90s rawness and heaviness and their own style of lofi indie
Nirvana meets Arcade Fire? :P
