oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

love love love the Racs live. i saw them in san francisco like six weeks ago and they were incredible. was five feet in front of jack. he's a madman and i love it. they've got such a great energy and they play so well together. love their interaction. jack's so brilliant with a guitar (seen the white stripes four times as well) that i just can't believe what i'm witnessing at times. and he's got a lot of cool little gadgets that he uses. i especially love the pull out distortion mic on the bottom of one of his guitars. it's on a retractable cord and when he let's it go it zips right back into the butt of the guitar.. heh, awesome. he absolutely killed on piano too. wasn't just about him though, all those boys are brilliant. it was truly great.

they just announced a bunch more dates in the fall. looks like i'll be seeing them again, in seattle this time. would love to be able to afford the two nights in portland as well... so it goes.

jack's good.......but i wouldn't put his music up to legendary status. I like his guitar effects, but the lyrics are only okay and the music doesn't seem to progress that much for me.

Raconteurs/white stripes are both good, but haven't heard anything great from either bands.

I've had the album for a couple of months........it's good, but i wouldn't consider it great. I guess that is the same way I feel about Switch and the spur....its pretty good musically, decent singing, but then the part that starts repeating "any poor souls who trespass....." kinda ruins the song for me. At that point the song seems to lack what I could only call "musical maturity".

Don't get me wrong, I like the Raconteurs, I jus't cant say anything they have done is great. Consolers of the Lonely does have a couple of rocking songs though.

Well... I really think last night's show in NYC was one of the best I have ever witnessed, by any band. I was so blown away I could not even scream. It was simply unbelievable. Everything was perfect. The sound was great, you could hear every note played by every instrument, and all the voices. They truly rocked my world. I really think Jack White is the most talented musician in rock today. A real legend. And he found himself an outstanding band.

Until just before Rich Kid Blues it was a good show, but from then on it just shot into music stratosphere. If you like their albums and have never seen them live, just imagine the quality of the song to go up by a factor of 10. Yes, in that sense better than PJ :o

Jack was masterful yesterday. Carolina drama took my breath away. But each moment did, really. I even made peace with Black Lips when their guitarist joined the Racs for a solo during the encore :)

Awesome show in Atlanta last night!! Brendan sang "Hold Up" which was cool, I thought they were just mixing things up because it was the last show of the tour, but he later said they were all trying to fill in on Jack's parts because he had been sick and having problems with his voice. Blue Veins was the highlight of the night, incredible. One of the best shows I've been to.

Thanks a lot to TiaMija for hooking me up with the tickets!

I was at this show and holy shit it blew the fucking roof off! It was my first time seeing them. Jack seems to love playing wiht the band.

I'm not much of a fan of blue veins on the album but damn it is a monster jam live! How long did they play that song for 12? 14 minutes?

I don't seem to remember many shades of black which sucks because i really like that song but the setlist was great non stop rockin!

Glad that you had a great show! I feel better for having to miss them knowing that you enjoyed it that much.
Blue Veins was also a highlight at the shows I saw in May. But, my favorite part was seeing Jack play the piano on You Don't Understand Me.
Did you guys get that one?
