Raconteurs in Toronto tonight! Playing the Kool Haus, which is a pretty small venue - it should rock!
I may post pics and a review tomorrow - pics only if I'm close enough since the camera I'm bringing kind of sucks : )0 -

Holy shit, what an awesome show!
I'm going to a lot of shows this summer, but I can't imagine many, if any, shows toping this one. All 4 (or 5) guys in the band are amazingly talented. Patrick Keeler is an amazing drummer..the guy must practice his rudiments hours daily - I could watch this guy play anything - he's just so fun and talented to watch. Jack and Brendan - what can you say; they just play so well together. Jack's vocals must have hit a hundred different pitches, and his guitar wow - he just raped it at times! Brendan's vocals really impressed me - this boy can sing. Both of those dudes look totally different from when I say them last - Benson looks like Robert Plant (his hair anyways), and Jack, well you can tell he's been living in the south : )
I've been to a few shows recently where I haven't been too impressed with the crowd. Raconteurs fans were amazing. Fun to talk to, not snotty or rude..just easy going and there for one thing - to have fun!
For those looking for a show to go to this summer - go see these guys, they rock!0 -

I just saw them here in Montreal on wednesday night and it was an awesome show.
Got to hang out with Brendan Benson & Jack Lawrence after the show and they were very chill dudes.
We were talking about Bonnaroo and one of their roadies overheard me mention Pearl Jam. It turns out that he used to work for PJ for a few years and he had a bunch of stories including the Rockslide experience.
Awesome night overall...
Great warm up show before my road trip to Manchester.

Racs are so great. Saw them this spring in Denver and it was incredible. Top Yourself was the surprise of the night. Great live treatment of that song. Really played up the midnight creep part of the song.
No 5 on the 5 that night. I don't think they've been playing it much this tour (if at all). Not sure why.0 -

they just announced a bunch more dates in the fall. looks like i'll be seeing them again, in seattle this time. would love to be able to afford the two nights in portland as well... so it goes.
jack's good.......but i wouldn't put his music up to legendary status. I like his guitar effects, but the lyrics are only okay and the music doesn't seem to progress that much for me.
Raconteurs/white stripes are both good, but haven't heard anything great from either bands.0 -

Consolers of the Lonely is a fucking great album
I've had the album for a couple of months........it's good, but i wouldn't consider it great. I guess that is the same way I feel about Switch and the spur....its pretty good musically, decent singing, but then the part that starts repeating "any poor souls who trespass....." kinda ruins the song for me. At that point the song seems to lack what I could only call "musical maturity".
Don't get me wrong, I like the Raconteurs, I jus't cant say anything they have done is great. Consolers of the Lonely does have a couple of rocking songs though.0
