Raconteurs live

Well... I really think last night's show in NYC was one of the best I have ever witnessed, by any band. I was so blown away I could not even scream. It was simply unbelievable. Everything was perfect. The sound was great, you could hear every note played by every instrument, and all the voices. They truly rocked my world. I really think Jack White is the most talented musician in rock today. A real legend. And he found himself an outstanding band.
Until just before Rich Kid Blues it was a good show, but from then on it just shot into music stratosphere. If you like their albums and have never seen them live, just imagine the quality of the song to go up by a factor of 10. Yes, in that sense better than PJ
Jack was masterful yesterday. Carolina drama took my breath away. But each moment did, really. I even made peace with Black Lips when their guitarist joined the Racs for a solo during the encore

... and the will to show I will always be better than before.

Was there an opening band?
"I'm not a very good American because I like to form my own opinions." - George Carlin
Yes, it was awful
FYI: i don't like anything Jack White.
You are missing out. You can still catch the train and see them in NYC tonight
I thought they had improved with practice, but looks like they were great from the get go
Oh, and I just realized that the beautiful girl in the vip section dancing and singing every word to every song is jack's wife. How cute
they just announced a bunch more dates in the fall. looks like i'll be seeing them again, in seattle this time. would love to be able to afford the two nights in portland as well... so it goes.
I just got tickets today for Memphis, Nashville and Atlanta in Sept/Oct!
I seriously should have gone to the Sunday show, too :(
nyc 1st June show is up on youtube.
Thanks for posting this
it's not even close to how it really sounded and felt (at least the 5/31 show) though
Have you seen them live Dunk?
nope :(
although i was waiting for them to announce a Scottish date, but alas, they didnt!! and I didnt get to see the Stripes as they cancelled that as well :(
p.s. the 31/05 show is on youtube as well I think
Then you are better at searching than I am. Care to share?
Dunk, you are in for the time of your life whenever you get to see them. Really
looks like its the 30/05 show
same guy though.. maybe he just typed the date in wrong?
yeah , i cant wait to witness Jack White being cooler than Samuel L Jackson... in a fridge... licking an ice-cube.
But yeah, The Raconteurs are amazing. I wish I could've gone to see them in New York but I've already spent too much money on Pearl Jam.

gets to me every time
I'm going to a lot of shows this summer, but I can't imagine many, if any, shows toping this one. All 4 (or 5) guys in the band are amazingly talented. Patrick Keeler is an amazing drummer..the guy must practice his rudiments hours daily - I could watch this guy play anything - he's just so fun and talented to watch. Jack and Brendan - what can you say; they just play so well together. Jack's vocals must have hit a hundred different pitches, and his guitar wow - he just raped it at times! Brendan's vocals really impressed me - this boy can sing. Both of those dudes look totally different from when I say them last - Benson looks like Robert Plant (his hair anyways), and Jack, well you can tell he's been living in the south : )
I've been to a few shows recently where I haven't been too impressed with the crowd. Raconteurs fans were amazing. Fun to talk to, not snotty or rude..just easy going and there for one thing - to have fun!
For those looking for a show to go to this summer - go see these guys, they rock!
Got to hang out with Brendan Benson & Jack Lawrence after the show and they were very chill dudes.
We were talking about Bonnaroo and one of their roadies overheard me mention Pearl Jam. It turns out that he used to work for PJ for a few years and he had a bunch of stories including the Rockslide experience.
Awesome night overall...
