hey I need some good picks for depressing music. I was in a shit mood all day and need something to listen to when I'm bummed out, so far all I had was Joy Division and Mad Season. I don't care if it's cliche just something to listen to

    The album you need is:

    Swans - Various Failures

Beg, borrow, download or steel this album. Now.

Includes the greatest cover song ever, Swans version of Love Will Tear Us Apart. A rare occasion when a cover is superior to the original in every way.

Anything by Red House Painters if you want to hold the mood, or when I'm in a depressing state I always listen to Pavement, it makes me feel better.

    Audioslave

Listen to any Soundgarden or RATM record, and then listen to Audioslave.

Instant recipie for depression. How could a band that could have been so good, suck so bad?

Morrissey is definitely some depressing music, as well as the Smiths. Also listen to "Stuff and Nonsense" from the 7 World's Collide cd, that features Eddie on vocals:) Very sad and realistic song.

Cat Power - "Myra Lee" - Rockets is one of the great sad songs

Eels- Electro shock blues - you know you're in for a heavily emotional album when it opens with "my Name's Elizabeth; my life is piss and shit"

Sigur ros - ( ) - this album will fit any emotion you're looking for since the lyrics are whatever you want them to be

pw long - his album, "remembered."

mark lanegan - pretty much anything, really. "kimiko's dream house" or "resurrection song" come to mind.
