MINDWIREUK wrote:Only area shows? C'mon man, Camden, Hartford and Boston are hardly a million miles away from you. The majority of the country aren't even looking like getting shows any shows this year. As for everyone's talking like it's the end of the world that they missed out on TC tix, ah HELLO there's a still a company called Ticketmaster who'll be selling the majority of tickets to these shows!!
10c members are a varied bunch, so just because YOU can traverse up and down the East Coast doesn't mean that others can. I have always been envious of people who live a lifestyle that affords them the ability to travel from city to city to follow their favorite band, but I've never been that lucky. When I was younger, I had plenty of time but no money; now that I'm older, I have a little more money but no time. :(
If I'd known I was going to get shut out for MSG, I would have bought Camden tix, but they were sold out by then. I will try for the 2nd Camden show though.
But you are also missing the point. Yes my 10c membership does not guarantee me tickets, but in years past it pretty much did. Yes I can go through ticketbastard or possibly another city, but than what am I getting with my 10c membership other than records I can't listen to and banana bread recipes?
I appreciate you trying to get people to realize that there are other ways to see PJ, but my point (and others complaining on this thread) is that we are trying to use this medium to voice our displeasure with the way 10c tickets are being handled.
One way to get more fans tickets is to go back to the system of limiting the # of shows fans can buy tickets for. It wouldn't have to be for all cities, just the ones that sell out quickly. Its great to be able to go to multiple shows, but I would easily give that up so that more fans could get tickets. If they would have only allowed 10c members to buy tix for MSG1 OR MSG2, I think they'd have made a lot more members happy.9/28/96 Randall's Island - 8/29/98 Camden - 9/11/98 NYC - 8/23/00 & 8/24/00 Jones Beach - 4/30/03 Uniondale - 7/5/03 Camden - 7/8/03 & 7/9/03 MSG - 7/14/03 Holmdel - 10/3/05 Philly - 5/28/06 Camden - 6/1/06 & 6/3/06 E Rutherford - 06/24/08 MSG - 10/30/09 Philly - 5/20/10 MSG - 10/22/13 Philly - 4/29/16 Philly (Ten) - 9/14/22 Camden0 -
Bottom line is the whining over "where my seats are" should Never EVER be an issue. If you got tix for MSG or anywhere else, just be grateful that you will be there. I've NEVER showed up at a Pearl Jam show and said, "Damn, I wish I had better seats!" Some of the best shows were either behind the Stage or last row on the Floor - Who cares!!! - They will be Rockin OUT! Can't wait! Oh How Sweet June will be - Bonaroo and Both MSG Shows! My only complaint about the process is technical.
Don't try to sell me something on-line if your servers can't handle the volume. And I mean MSG volume - yes, you do plan for the extremes.
I say charge $25 per year and put the extra $5 in a server upgrade fund.

it breaks my fucking heart to see a 16-18 year old get all excited when a tour is announced....listen to them make there plans....tell everyone it will be their FIRST PEARL JAM concert.....
and then get SHUT OUT .........it KILLS ME!!!!!
and i can understand them screaming and yelling and complaining....
i can also understand us older folk...screaming yelling and complaining when we dont get tickets.....because for 90% of us ....THE ONLY REASON we are in this fan club.....IS FOR THE TICKETS!!!
i dont need a magazine with a banana bread recipe...
i dont need to buy any stickers...
i dont need a christmas single that i cant listen to because i havent owned a record player in 20 years...
and sitting on a computer for 2-3 hours trying to get concert tickets can drive someone fucking nuts......
been there....done that....
so if people want to scream and yell because they didnt get tickets.....i have no problem with it...
wow, speedy. i was in agreement with the original poster ... but after reading your post, i can totally see the point. i really do hate all the complaining -- and i actually feel bad for the folks at the 10C -- but you make a bunch of valid points. i only hope the band and the 10C overlook all of our whining and understand it's kind of coming from our love of PJ and seeing/hearing them live.Give way to nature ...0 -

my favorite are the three to four paragraph diatribes explaining their anger and frustration along with the age old suggestions: home town shows and doing away with senority
people have been getting shut out, more or less, since the 2005 shows.
get over it, there are a lot more members now.0 -
Rub wrote:It is very important that I go - otherwise I wouldn't have wasted several hours yesterday trying to get tix. And I'll probably see what kind of tickets I can get through ticketmaster. But I would easily pay a SMALL fee if someone else we to do it for me.
But you are missing the whole point. Its just frustrating that I have to go through ticketmaster or ebay and spend the extra time and money for PJ tickets in the 1st place! That is why I joined 10c and up until the last tour, it was never a problem.
BTW- I need at least 4, possibly 8 tickets. With ticketbastard fees an etra 5 percent vig, you are looking at a lot more than 20 bucks. Are you interested now?. PM me if interested.
This is a great opportunity, I'd probably farm out the search work as well. Buying tickets takes a lot of time and if you can negotiate a small fee to farm it out, it is the new American Dream. It would be best spending the ticket searching time doing something more profitable.
Kudos to you. There's Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Robert Johnson......and then everybody else.0 -
I'm not whining. But then, a Seattle -Vancouver vacation will have that effect on a person. All's good. I'll be on this puter Tuesday to try for Camden and Mansfield and worry about MSG II and or anything I don't get Tuesday when I get home. Where there's a will..10C, sharing tix,T-shystermaster, 3rd party...I know I'm going . Better that attitude than kick myself in the arse forever for not trying when the setlists come out. I 'll never get "Newcastled" ( see OZ 0 setlist) again.I fucked myself then by not even trying to arrange tix ,sched,etc...No MORE."Buy the ticket, take the ride"

It's like this for EVERY SINGLE TOUR. Like clockwork. The tickets cost too much. It's too hard for me to get tickets. I didn't have enough time to save money.
blah, blah, blah.
I bet if you could pull posts from 2003 or 2006, they would be identical to the posts on here today.
At least we don't see the usual "seniority allotment is unfair!" stuff - the random 1/2/9/10 rows decision has virtually eliminated all of that whining...0
