Whats with all the Whining?
The amount of anger and outright whining that has gone on since the release of tickets is extremely upsetting to see on this board. I don't know the average age of the people on this board, but if i just stopped by, having never been here, i would assume it was 5 years old. you didnt get tickets, too bad, do what i always do and work your ass off to figure out a way to get some. i don't want to read about you not getting tickets, or the site crashing, it always happens, with every band, with ticketmaster. Its not the ten clubs fault. I just think its hilarious to see all the boo-hoo for me threads and complaints and outright anger, not even like oh schucks, but outright anger and the feeling that we are owed something because of a membership# we have. Its never once been easy for me to see pearljam but while a whole lot of you were busy sending hate mail to the message board i was patiently hitting refresh for an hour and finally got tickets. go ahead and blast me up and down this message board but lets not forget what its all about...

it breaks my fucking heart to see a 16-18 year old get all excited when a tour is announced....listen to them make there plans....tell everyone it will be their FIRST PEARL JAM concert.....
and then get SHUT OUT .........it KILLS ME!!!!!
and i can understand them screaming and yelling and complaining....
i can also understand us older folk...screaming yelling and complaining when we dont get tickets.....because for 90% of us ....THE ONLY REASON we are in this fan club.....IS FOR THE TICKETS!!!
i dont need a magazine with a banana bread recipe...
i dont need to buy any stickers...
i dont need a christmas single that i cant listen to because i havent owned a record player in 20 years...
and sitting on a computer for 2-3 hours trying to get concert tickets can drive someone fucking nuts......
been there....done that....
so if people want to scream and yell because they didnt get tickets.....i have no problem with it...
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
Disappointment is hard to deal with at any age. And yes, the young can be dramatic.
I can understand the screaming and gnashing of teeth... I just don't like the vindictive tone, the blaming, flaming, and general nastiness toward other folks on this board.
Rail against the system... try to change it...that's natural... But don't lash out at those around you.
there's lots of clever kidding and comebacks, but jeez, the fucking fighting is useless.
as one very clever person once said - "the hate flows both ways"... we are none of us blameless.

It's like this for EVERY SINGLE TOUR. Like clockwork. The tickets cost too much. It's too hard for me to get tickets. I didn't have enough time to save money.
blah, blah, blah.
I bet if you could pull posts from 2003 or 2006, they would be identical to the posts on here today.
for the least they could possibly do
The crack about the banana bread killed me. Its so true, though.
i just understand people here can spend up to 1-2 hours on this silly computer trying for tickets....getting aggravated beyond belief...and then getting SHUT OUT..
i can then understand them coming on this board and calling the 10club every name in the book...hehehehehehe
and dont get me wrong...im sure the 10club tries their best to make this ticket buying experience ....as simple and easy as they possibly can...
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
the chase is no fun if you break your leg and dont catch dinner.
Ask a lion if the chase is fun when they get hoofed by a zebra.

I know the ticketing system is not ideal and being up close is awesome and what not but....
It's about the music!!!!!
There are still plenty of options to score tickets.
You don't need to see the sweat drip off of Ed's face to enjoy the show.
I was second to last row at Hershey in '03 and still had a fucking good time.
AND
I am grateful that PJ treats the 10c members so well but its just gotten extremely hard to get tickets for the NY area the last 2 tours. Yesterday took the cake for me as I spent 3 hours on the computer not get tickets to the only area shows. At least the last time I was shut out of MSG, I was lucky enough to catch them in NJ. Unless they add shows or I'm lucky enough to get them through ticketbastard, I'm going to miss them entirely this year.
I don't know the answer, but there has got to be a better way of getting tickets to the fans. It really makes me question why I renew my membership as the tickets are pretty much the only reason I joined 10c in the 1st place.
I thought the world...Turns out the world thought me
SPEEDY, I'm starting to think you may be my long lost brother. lol. Again...
WORD
So... just because you don't agree with others venting it's fucked up? Get over it, it's the fucking internet, not a church meeting.
And if it tears you up that bad, get off the fuckin porch.
It sucks not to get 10C tickets but I don't understand why you think you won't get tickets another way? You may not get fantastic seats, but you definitely should be able to get something in the public sale.
And if cost is more of an issue than how good your seats are, in a huge venue like MSG there will be nosebleeds on ebay at or below face value near the show date. There is always a way in.... and this isn't 1994 anymore, it's not even that difficult.
Bro, I simply don't have the time I used to in order to hunt down tickets. I don't even know when they'll go on sale at ticketmaster. I'll make you a deal, you get me tickets and I'll give you a 10% vig. IM me if interested.
Well if you don't have time... then it doesn't seem like it's important to you to go. Finding out when they go on sale at ticketmaster and/or making a few ebay bids is not all that time consuming. For me, it would be worth it to make that time investment to see PJ. For you, maybe not?
$168 x 10% = $16.80 ... not worth it for me to make the time investment and risk to make less than $20 though. $20 is not that important to me. Sorry, maybe someone else will take you up on it?
Only area shows? C'mon man, Camden, Hartford and Boston are hardly a million miles away from you. The majority of the country aren't even looking like getting shows any shows this year. As for everyone's talking like it's the end of the world that they missed out on TC tix, ah HELLO there's a still a company called Ticketmaster who'll be selling the majority of tickets to these shows!!
London 28/10/96, Las Vegas 11/7/98, London 29/5/00, Nurnburg 11/6/00, Prague 14/6/00, Salzburg 18/6/00, Verona 20/6/00, Milan 22/6/00, Zurich 23/6/00, New York 8-9/7/03, Boston 11/7/03, Reading Festival 27/8/06, Shepards Bush 11/8/09, Berlin 15/8/09, Manchester 17/8/09, London 18/8/09, Dublin 22/6/10, Belfast 23/6/10, London (HRC) 25/6/10, Alpine Valley (PJ20) 3-4/9/11, Manchester 20-21/6/12, Leeds 8/7/14, Milton Keynes 11/7/14 To be continued....
But you are missing the whole point. Its just frustrating that I have to go through ticketmaster or ebay and spend the extra time and money for PJ tickets in the 1st place! That is why I joined 10c and up until the last tour, it was never a problem.
BTW- I need at least 4, possibly 8 tickets. With ticketbastard fees an etra 5 percent vig, you are looking at a lot more than 20 bucks. Are you interested now? . PM me if interested.
10c members are a varied bunch, so just because YOU can traverse up and down the East Coast doesn't mean that others can. I have always been envious of people who live a lifestyle that affords them the ability to travel from city to city to follow their favorite band, but I've never been that lucky. When I was younger, I had plenty of time but no money; now that I'm older, I have a little more money but no time. :(
If I'd known I was going to get shut out for MSG, I would have bought Camden tix, but they were sold out by then. I will try for the 2nd Camden show though.
But you are also missing the point. Yes my 10c membership does not guarantee me tickets, but in years past it pretty much did. Yes I can go through ticketbastard or possibly another city, but than what am I getting with my 10c membership other than records I can't listen to and banana bread recipes?
I appreciate you trying to get people to realize that there are other ways to see PJ, but my point (and others complaining on this thread) is that we are trying to use this medium to voice our displeasure with the way 10c tickets are being handled.
One way to get more fans tickets is to go back to the system of limiting the # of shows fans can buy tickets for. It wouldn't have to be for all cities, just the ones that sell out quickly. Its great to be able to go to multiple shows, but I would easily give that up so that more fans could get tickets. If they would have only allowed 10c members to buy tix for MSG1 OR MSG2, I think they'd have made a lot more members happy.
Greatest post. Ever.
Don't try to sell me something on-line if your servers can't handle the volume. And I mean MSG volume - yes, you do plan for the extremes.
I say charge $25 per year and put the extra $5 in a server upgrade fund.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me...
wow, speedy. i was in agreement with the original poster ... but after reading your post, i can totally see the point. i really do hate all the complaining -- and i actually feel bad for the folks at the 10C -- but you make a bunch of valid points. i only hope the band and the 10C overlook all of our whining and understand it's kind of coming from our love of PJ and seeing/hearing them live.
Haha, i actually made that banana cake! It was tasty! But I do agree with the christmas singles, i havent played one of them, never owned a record player But i still would hate to miss out on any new christmas singles.

people have been getting shut out, more or less, since the 2005 shows.
get over it, there are a lot more members now.
This is a great opportunity, I'd probably farm out the search work as well. Buying tickets takes a lot of time and if you can negotiate a small fee to farm it out, it is the new American Dream. It would be best spending the ticket searching time doing something more profitable.
Kudos to you.
