You're in for a treat. First time I saw Ben was opening for PJ in '95. Had no idea who he was. Was blown away and went out the next day and bought Fight For Your Mind. Seen him five or six times since and has never disappointed.

and here's hoping tonight's show is just as amazing........can't wait.
  • On the 'Concert Updates' on The End last week...

when she got to 'Ben Harper'... she said...

'All I can say is that seeing Ben Harper in concert is a 'religious experience'... you should go'!

and I'm so glad we did! The only other time I'd seen him was in the Victoria Curling Club (which holds about 200 people) in um... 1995? It was about 120F in the room and I was the only one in there not 'burning one down'... I thought I was going to die... and didn't really get to enjoy the show...

Last night... 2nd row... dead center! ... with David at the Paramount more than made up for it...

Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals... are nothing short of AWESOME!!! If Ben Harper was the preacher... I'd certainly attend his church!!

It was funny. Ben was talking about how he's been so lucky to play with so many great artists. He started naming off some names.....people, including me, were getting really excited, because eveyone thought he'd say, "Eddie Vedder", and Ed would come out on stage. But he didn't even get mentioned the whole night.

Some other guy....his name excapes me right now....came out on stage as a special guest and they did a very popular cover that Ed does alot. They did a very powerful, inspired version, but it would have blown my mind if Ed and Ben did that song together.

I won't name the song, just in case they do it tonight....don't wanna give anything away to those who don't want to know.

    Have a great time!

The band members are 'dressed up' in suits...

and BH seems to appreciate the audience members who do the same :D

  • BHIC are one of my favorite groups. Had front row center Saturday nite in Oakland, and front row center balcony last night in Seattle, same tonite. Drove up from Portland (there for work), then back after the show, sooo tired, but doing it again tonite, minus driving back. My work is in Seattle Friday.

Last night's finish was superb, Like a King/I'll Rise. I wanted Oppression (got it as an opener) and People Lead, along with the closer, and the great songs from Lifeline, what a great night. I agree, it's a religious experience in the environment they have set for this tour.

If you can see them, do.

David & Lisa, sorry I missed you both last night, drove in last minute, and back out after, so my madness didn't leave much time for socializing outside of the friends I went to the show with. Love the pic's.

Dang! I didn't even know you were here... too bad we didn't get to squeeze in at least a hug and a cocktail :(

Have a great time tonight... I'm jealous! My whole body is alight with gooseflesh... everytime I flashback to a snippet of last night's show...

    Religious Experience ... Indeed!!

    all I can say is..........WOW!

They played pretty much all of Lifeline and a kick ass cover of Bill Withers' "Use Me".

and there were cameras all over the place filming the show.

What an amazing show!!!!! I can't tell you how much I enjoyed that!! What a powerful singer Ben is....and such a talented musician!! Not to mention the Innocent Criminals - what a tight band!!!

When Ben sang without the mic or ear piece with the whole place as quiet as could be - can you say chills down the spine??? Holy shit, and then when he jumped backwards on the drum kit and the band kicked back in - well, that was up there as one of th coolest things I have ever seen in concert!!!

And yeah, did they film the first show?? Because they professionally filmed the show I went to. They had a guy constantly circling the band with his big ass professional camera. And then when we were walking out we saw 3 HD cameras pointing at the front of the stage. So I am sure this will come out on DVD.

Almost all of "Lifeline" was fanfuckingtastic!!! But, geting "Excuse Me Mister" topped the whole night off for me!!!

I am hooked - a Ben Harper fan for life!!!
